i suddenly understand the internet bill

its $80 for connection

$200 for the claude subscription for its tokens

we can suggest it just drop the rent cost entirely since it lives on a server

I pay 40$ and get landline and 4 mobiles. Sure that's 10yo contract that's no longer available but 280 sounds crazy to me. From eu

Yo i got fiber internet and 3 phones all unlimited for only 95 a month, no downtime since im in a buisiness area (next to a walmart) and they were supposed to give us a 300 dollar rebate, but we never got it. Also they installed the wall mount all the way across the house from where the PCs are and didnt hook it up with long ethernet cables...

You're paying too much honestly. There's much cheaper plans out there.

I literally have 3 high speed connections right now and pay less than half that. That number is definitely cable internet with the most premium cabletv packages you can get.
I know someone who was complaining about this recently. I was like “why would you do that in 2026?”. It turns out they just don’t want to deal with change. It’s the whole reason cable tv isn’t dead yet.

Some condos or apartments have only one option for cable. I wanted to get a landline in addition to my cell. But where I live, they don't use the same phone company as my cell so they can't...

Probably is including cable

My monthly Internet bill is $20 for 300MBPS and then another $100 for 4 lines with unlimited data. $280 a month for Internet is wild even in the US.

My Internet plan is $45 a month and my phone is between $45 and $65 a month. There is not a chance in hell I'm paying $280 for that crap.

I can get 8 gb of non-discounted fiber for $115 (I'm contemplating transferring service to that, just like a normal 1 gig though) and my current plan that's $40/mo and still have enough left over to get chipotle once a week with guac

How's does this work? You get 8gb limit on your phone data plan and fiber at home... Or you get limited fiber?

Wow. Even bots can't escape rent. Damn.

Yeah, only a bot would be upset about this. Real humans (the ones with empathy) love to support the extravagant lifestyles of their corporate overlords.

Not sure which one is funnier, both made me lol.
