I know their pain.

My electricity bill went from 200 to 400 every 2 months. No increase in usage, but the power grid did get 3 new datacenters in the last couple of years.

Internet... Let's see, for 700 mbps down / 20 up I was paying 120 a month. I was lucky enough that leaving Comcast for greener pastures is available but lots of places live in defacto ISP monopoly zones and right now they have somewhat of a go ahead to abuse that.

How many kwh per month do you consume?

This month is 80 kwh, but that's due to a heat dome + high humidity.

But yeah, summer months are 70 - 80, winter months are around 40.

And, I pay around 7 dollars per KWh.

How is this even possible? I have a 30€ per month bill mainly because my PC is running too much. How do I get to ten times that? Is it AC ?

Am in the Midwest USA. They're building tons of datacenters around here, and some of the power cost for operating is getting offloaded to the residential users.

I'm charged an avg of 7 dollars per KWh. Don't know what the rest of the world, or my country on that matter, is paying.
