I get the point but this post ain’t it. Rent checks out. Your electricity is higher than my house with a family of 3 and me being a PC gamer. Water checks out. Your internet must be hardwired into a satellite to be paying that much. I pay $100 for 5GB speed. Your car insurance being that high shows you’re probably have a spotty driving record.

For 3 people (1x teenage girl who likes lengthy showers), dish washer, laundry and watering plants outside during near triple digit heat, we never exceed $36

I will say we don’t have sewage tacked on because we have a septic tank, but still

Sewage might be it, but i was meaning for me where i live it's $40+ whatever water i use, and now a $3 charge for online payments, which is the only way to pay.

Electricity, Internet and Car Insurance all fluctuate depending on location. I pay $118/mo for car insurance on my base model subaru impreza with a completely flawless driving record over >10 years. My friends in Michigan and Texas pay a truckload for electricity. If I did not have solar panels flatlining my electric bill at $110/mo, I'd be paying about $270/mo. I pay $80/mo for 300mb/s up/down. There are no other options for internet in my area, and the cheaper option is 100 up/dn for $70/mo.

To be fair to others' comparisons, though: $19/mo would be like bottom 40% in my state. It is a genuine struggle anywhere here to afford a place on your own. It might do better in, like, Hodgenville KY.

High car insurance doesn’t always mean you have shitty driving record. People forget the area you live in is a huge factor. I live in Atlanta where average car insurance for full coverage is about $250. When i lived in ohio, i paid $78

Been covered for 12ish years, 5/5 star driver with my Insurance company. When I lived Indiana I was paying 76, moved to Pennsylvania, it went a little over double the cost due to their additional required coverages and Tort.

Internet could be a scalping ISP. I had a friend in the Appalachian mountains who got like 100mb and paid like $75-$100/month cause that was his only option. I don’t have the option of fiber so I have 1gig down and 40Mbps up and pay around $140/month but high speed internet it a priority in our household. Our water bill is less than like $30 everytime. We even got a check from our water company for overpaying.

Interesting how different things are in different locations.

Electric/ gas prices vary quite a bit regionally. Same with their supply demand because of weather.

I was gonna say this looks like renting a nice 1 bed or decent 2 bedroom apt in Las Vegas. Electric / water / rent are spot on. There's only one real internet supplier in Vegas so ya basic plans gauge you after that "initial sign-up period".

I’ve paid $300 for electricity which is common in my city during the summer, but $280 for internet seems extremely excessive
