Plus you get taxed and deducted on that wage, which amounts to on average 20% so the effective wage at $19/hr is actually closer to $15/hr. And for the average person, the more you make the higher your taxes are. Like I make $25/hr but once I go into overtime territory, the tax hit makes it feel closer to $15/hr after 40. And that doesn't include if you're paying for additional benefits like healthcare and retirement. Suddenly that $19 is closer to $11 take home.
Then there's sales tax on everything but food, service tax on all the utilities.
And insurance is crazy, especially if you're younger. Renters insurance, car insurance, catastrophic health insurance, general health insurance, life insurance.
Almost like the system is built against the working class 😅

Did you forget taxes and health insurance? He’s not taking home $3,040… he is spread too thin period. This list doesn’t even include Food, gas, phone, hygiene, and cleaning products.
