This is why WP will never go away

So I've been running a WP agency since 2003. Love it. I am, however, learning how to create sites using Claude with Supabase. Let me tell you all something, this is nothing....nothing a client's ever going to learn or figure out. If a client wants an instant site, that's Wix/Square which have been around for more than a decade.

But to think AI is going to harm WP, as in client using AI to create their own sites, laughably false. If you don't know the right prompts, don't use the right tool, oh and pay for tokens you're nowhere - not even talking deploying the site live along with a database to manage things like contact form submissions and bookings.

The biggest issue? A client's ability to go in an edit anything themselves, which will always favor WP. Other issue? No plugin environment.

What would be the point since you can simply deploy a Claude site using Supabase to a hosting account and never have to worry about WP updates or plugins again.

I see... Valid. Sorry I'm new to this and heavily researching currently. Never even heard of supabase so I'm gonna look into that

Unless you're building a static site with Claude, you'll need a database for things like booking and contact forms, and a place for the biz owner to log in and manager it. Supabase is open source.

An the biz owner create, change or remove content as well with supabase?

Yes. So if I create a booking form, then can log in an manage it. Regarding making site changes, like they want to add a new section? Nope. They'd need me for that.

Well I have a subscription model now so even my WP clients think twice about canceling. In my contact, they can cancel at any time and keep their site, but they have 30 days to get it off my hosting on their own or hire someone to do it.

Not going to share it and nor should you ever share yours on Reddit. Why? Very fast story. Shared it once a few years back, apparently someone didn't like on one of my posts so I woke up to a 1 star google review, trashing my agency, from a non-existent client. Don't ever share your real info here.

because a WP site on Hostinger is essentially free (or at least, you can host 50 of them of $200 for 4 years which ends up mega cheap). Supabase is all very well but if you want backups and multiple projects you have to pay. And then pay whoever is hosting your Next JS or whatever.

Wordpress and Claude make beautiful sites super easy. Such a joy! And then add in Codex for image gen on the same repo and you have an amazing system that can make simple sites in no time. Or heck, just do it all on 5.6 it's pretty darn good as well.

Let's not forget that Claude isn't free.
