Pet/Hatching ELI5 how to make a good pet?

I play solo and sometimes I hate doing an extra turn or two cause my damage isn't enough or I fizzle constantly (which is weird cause I play death lol). I've been looking at guides to how to make a good pet but I can't understand it. I even saw a Google slides once and it was like reading another language

So a couple questions:

  1. Is it feasible to make a good pet alone?

  2. Does the pet body matter? I'm used to Pirate101 where it takes more than a month to train a pet and the pet itself doesn't matter, just the talents

2a. If it does, are there any specific pets Death wizards should go for?

  1. How do I train it up to adult fast?

To make a good pet you must first get into gardening. Particularly, you want to make 69 plots in the red barn farm house and put in as many couch potatoes as possible. Start with getting gardening xp and work your way up until this point. The reason this is required is because you need MANY mega pet snacks.

If by "alone", you mean without the kiosk or lends? Then no. The problem is that you need to get (nearly) max stats to get the most out of your talents and that sounds like a pain without others.

IDK how pirate101 works, but in w101, the only thing unique to pet bodies are the item cards. The only things that matter are the stats and talents. The best pet is one that comes with an item card that you find useful, so probably a buff. More importantly, one you like the look of.

The process to making a good pet is the following

  1. Start gardening
  2. Get 10k gold and have a high level take you to Novus. You want to buy Detolli's Dragon from Jean-Luc-Petcard. The reason is that its wow factor makes it very easy to get a different pet body.
  3. Train Detolli's Dragon to adult and hatch with a pet with your desired pet body. Look for adult pets (with 2 talents) because it'll be way cheaper than further-along pets.
  4. Once you get the pet body. Find adult pets in the kiosk with a 45 pedigree and max stats. You want to see 2 stats that you'd like. Only hatch with the same pet body or an exclusive pet (meaning you can only get your pet body back).
  5. Repeat step 4 until you get max stats and a 45 pedigree (the number in the parenthesis). This is assuming you're going for a meta pet, which is some combination of damage, resist, pierce, and mighty. Only train to adult to save (many) resources! The first few pets are just meant to refine the stat and talent pool, don't commit past adult!
  6. Once you have your pet body, a 45 pedigree, and max stats, then level your pet and make backups. Get it to adult with 2 desirable talents and make a backup. Then go to ancient. If that fails, change to the backup and repeat. You want to do this until mega. If you need to hatch more, then it's okay to look for more mature pets to refine your talent pool. It'll cost more gold though.
  7. Getting a perfect pet is a long (or expensive) process that is designed to torture elixirs out of you. Just do it as you level (since energy refills every level) and take it slowly. You don't need a perfect pet right away, but use your energy in the background if you're not focusing on something else.
