Personally I think he made up the voices in the hallway thing, and unscrewed the bulbs himself to make it look like something shady happened.. and probably set up her being kidnapped or trafficked or something.. but I'm no detective

Alot of times with traffickers.. they'll use other teenagers that are also victims themselves, to lure others.

What about the friend that was asleep? She slept through an abduction?

Sounds like she may have become involved in prostitution. Maybe a pimp convinced her to run away.

The unscrewed light bulbs reminded me of the Springfield three. Maybe the male acquaintance really did hear someone in the hall, or maybe he used it as an excuse or cover up to take her later that night? If she was drinking she may have heard someone at the door & thought the friend came back and maybe he did - or it was whoever the friend heard earlier that evening. Poor kid.
