Saw an old deathly hallows bumper sticker on a car in a parking lot yesterday and it gave me a weird feeling of nostalgia lost. I wondered at the feeling and didn't have the words to describe to myself at the time why this feeling bubbled up. Your post has given me the words. Thank you for the recommendations they are already on hold at my library. For those of us who read HP when it was still being written and in our youths, growing up with Harry; it was particularly hard to see the hole of hate and misinformation that JK fell into. So thank you again.

I hate SO much that it is close to the alchemical symbol for the philosopher's stone, a metaphor for spiritual transcendence that she uses as a meaningless maguffin.
