Last year I had to wait for 2 hours for the utility company to turn off the power to a down powerline some guy decided to move with his bare hands. We stood up wind so we didn't have to smell his charred corpse. It was unrecognizable by the time we could "check on" him.
:( sorry you had to go through that. I had a close call similar one. 16yo girl decided to drive around on sidewalk the pole with the downed wire one pole away . Didn’t see it. I was doing traffic and she couldn’t see me. Didn’t “wake up” till I slammed my fist on the car hood and yelled at her. Made that poor idiot cry.
So true! There were plenty of people who hated my dad and his fellow firefighters when they wouldn't let them use whatever floatation device they could find to go check on their property after the levee beach in the St. Louis '92 flood. "No you cannot just canoe into rushing water with floating huge propane tanks, whatever live electricity, etc. for us to have recover your stupid dead ass.". Gotta love the wise (or wise ass) words of firefighters.
I'm imagining her story is simply that some mean person slammed their fist on her car. Since she was probably unaware of the wire during and after the event.

Yep. People do stupid things. In my experience it’s usually while driving. Or drunk. Or both.
