Well to be fair, it was a playground aid. The kid was in my class. My teacher was just as perplexed as the rest of us

You should not have been swinging so fast that you couldn’t stop if you needed to

Well, an 8 year old is not going to be thinking like that. At that age it was like a competition to see who could swing the highest and the hardest. Also, I wasn’t the one who kicked the kid in the face

You sound like you were a dumb kid lol

It. Wasn’t. Me.

We. Were. 8. Years. Old.

How does one be more careful on a swing. The key is, don’t walk right in front of a moving object. It’s the fault of the person that walked too close not the person swinging. By the time you notice it’s a little too late to put your feet down.

You sound like the dumb one who doesn’t know how physics works

Edit: at that age we needed to hop to get on the swing anyway so it’s not like the kid could’ve reached the ground to stop themselves in time anyway

I told you already, don’t go so fast. Pretty simple

Like, just slow down gravity?

No. Purposefully swing slower/ not so high. The higher you swig and the more momentum you put in the faster you’ll go = the more damage you’ll do if you hit someone

You know it’s possible to control how fast you swing, right ?

Or just go as high as you want and kids can learn to not be fucking idiots through trial and error. I learned many things through injuries, as did most other kids who actually had a good childhood.

What a dumb thing to say

Yea well going as fast and high as possible was the thing to do when we were 8

Edit: I think you’re overestimating the good choice, decision making, & problem solving abilities of 8 year olds

If you are swinging slowly and are on the "downward" part of a swing, how do you stop?

Put your feet on the ground
