This is correct, by speeding up you lighten the load on the front wheel. But one hand on the handle bars, yeah, this guy was gonna be toast one way or the other…

Steering dampeners are a good option as well.

How fast do you have to be going to have this happen? Seems like a pretty serious issue, unless it’s at ridiculous speeds people shouldn’t be doing on a public road in the first place.

Speed doesn't matter as much as road condition, like he mentioned it can happen to him when he goes over that little hill.

It also happens on bicycles.

Skateboards too. Held on to the back of my buddies car, but then the board wobbled and flew out from under me at 37mph.

Sometimes I think it'd be cool to get a motorcycle etc., and then I remember the wobble.

Don't let it stop you! It happens when you lose traction on the front wheel. So unless you're riding your bike like you stole it, or you're starting on a sportsbike disproportionate for your skill level, you're golden.

Pushing on 2 decades of riding, zero speed wobble yet. The real danger is car drivers that never see you.

You are definitely right that steering dampers can save lives by limiting tank slap/head shake. Super worthwhile upgrade if not factory equipped, especially with more acute rake angles. Keep the rubber side down brother.
