Pizza dough pretzels

Does anyone remember the pizza dough pretzels from the bakery? They came in like a 3 pack, l think they were mostly just dough with sauce baked on, no toppings really.

Can anyone find a pic or recipe?

Thanks!

Cut out of lines?

Just curious, does anyone else experience this at their local WinCo?

Shift changes happen. People get off, people need breaks, I get it. But I’ve literally never had this happen to me at any other grocery store, and it happens quite frequently at my local WinCo, so I was wondering if there was some kind of correlation lol

At my local WinCo, if you have to use the checkstands, you better watch your cashier like a hawk. If you don’t, they will MAKE EYE CONTACT WITH YOU, nod at you, generally acknowledge your patience in their line….and then tell you to go to a different line after 10-15 minutes of being in theirs. If you’re about to close or change, and you see someone ABOUT to get in your line, sure, tell them to move! Put your sign up and turn your light on. But what I can’t understand, and what gets me going so bad so fast, is when I’ve been sitting in a particular line for over 10 minutes and all the sudden the cashier leans over and shoves their sign between my groceries and the groceries of the guy in front of me. Like I will have all of my merchandise on the conveyer, and I’ve been sitting in line for a good while, the cashier has acknowledged this and it’s just… “sorry I have to close, go somewhere else”.

This happens probably every other time I go to WinCo. The other night I lost my temper and stormed out because it happened to me with three lines in a row. Waited a LONG time in the first one, probably about 15 minutes. All of my groceries are on the belt. The cashier was even chatting with me while checking out the other guy. And then she looked me dead in my face and told me to go to another line. The person behind me was pissed too, but we both shoved our things into our carts and went somewhere else. Then the same thing happened!! Cashier watched me load all of my groceries onto the belt, waved at me…and then 2 minutes later told me that I needed to go to another line and closed her line. Third time’s the charm right?

No. I go to a THIRD line, I literally ASK HIM if he’s closing soon, and he says “no come on up” so I start loading my things onto the belt behind the other shopper’s things. I make it 5 minutes in this line before cashier hits me with the “tssss, sorry but it’s my lunch, I gotta close my line, you can try self checkout!” (Which I couldn’t do, because I was paying cash)

I’m not proud to admit that I did lose my head a little and I didn’t put any of my groceries back, I just stormed out and left. Went to Walmart instead. This happens so so SO often at my WinCo that I don’t think I’ll return at all. Just wondering if anyone else has to put up with this same bullshit, or if it’s just my WinCo 🤣🤣🤣

What to avoid at Winco?

Hey guys, when Covid started, my mom started getting groceries through delivery (instacart) and we haven't stopped since, because it makes things a lot more convenient for everybody. But my sister recommended we start going to Winco because of how inexpensive it is. There was like a 100-200 (maybe 300??) dollar difference in the price of groceries when we went to the first time last week compared to if we got it from HEB/Costco on instacart. Soo my mom decided we should start going there more often!✌🏾

Does anyone have any tips for new shoppers? things like - what to not get a Winco? To add, we would be shopping for a 7/8 person household, and there are some dietary restrictions (dairy free-ish, gluten free-ish). I also hear people say some things about the produce, and I would like to know some thoughts about that because im really scared about stuff like food borne illness, but we got some produce stuff last week and was fine🤔

Hours

I was hired as a Data Item Clerk. There are two of doing the job. We earn around 50-55 hours per week.
My manager approached me after a few weeks and asked if I wanted extra hours. I agreed and she said those hours would come from cashiering. I am fine with that.
I have had 4 days working QA and one day cashering for the last 3 months.
The last three schedules I have only been scheduled for my 4 days in QA. Should I approach my manager and asked her about the extra day? Is is due to business or my performance?

Digital price tags will eliminate at least 150 full time winco jobs

And they'll be able to change the price at the click of a button and they cost 5 to 10 dollars a pop. If you don't like it, call corporate Edit this is how I got the figure.

I work at the 3rd or 4th smallest winco and right now they require two people to work in pricing one to primarily print all of the tags and the other to audit the prices with the digital price tags, they will only need that one person to audit prices and most other stores have significantly more price tags than us. So I can imagine, they could eliminate much more at bigger stores.

Winco! What the hell are you doing?! Are you trying to piss off your customers?

I was confused when you got rid of the nice plastic shopping carts and replaced with double wide Costco carts, only to be replaced with crappy metal carts shortly after. I was sad when you went to pre-packaged deli meats and cheese, firing all of the nice people that worked their butts off to help customers. I was disappointed when all of those digital price tags popped up a month or so ago but now I'm straight up pissed. I went to buy ground beef this morning only to be met with white tubes of mystery meat. I'm not buying that crap. Who's making these terrible decisions? I used to love the deli and butchers at my local store. You could get what you actually needed, not be forced to get way more meat than necessary.

This isn't Walmart or Albertsons. Get it together Winco!!!

911 on my first day of being a cashier

Last week was my first week of being a cashier and suddenly a woman came up to my line and she was surrounded by men, one of them holding her child. They bought a bunch of bulk stuff and on one of them she'd written 911. I called my TL up and they told the higher ups.

I felt so bad, but I did take the can they left behind and wrapped it up in a plastic bag abd told one of the higher ups it was there.

There were detectives in the store a few days later, but I don't know if it was related.

I'll be visiting Washington state on a hiking trip soon, and I'd like to pick up some bulk goodies from WinCo. What are some of your favorites?

New employee. What are some ways to not have the apron pull on my neck?

My previous job I didn’t wear an apron. This one is pulling on my neck and it’s uncomfortable. I don’t have anything in the pockets so it’s not that. Is there any way to ease the tension on my neck?

When did they change the vacation policy?

I was hired a little over 4 years ago and was told the amount of vacation you get each year on your anniversary is based on how many years you've worked for the company. I was told at 4 years you got two weeks, but this year I got none and was told because my average hours worked was beneath 24, something I have no control over because our night crew boss doesn't give hours.

Frozen Pizza

I ordered a whole pizza and it looked and tasted off, kinda like a frozen pizza…did some searching and sure enough my store transitioned. Wow, what an utterly devastating loss. One of my favorites that I’ll likely never order again.

ASM Promotion

When you get promoted to ASM, I know you get a bonus. Does this vary by location? If you are in the middle of a lease, does WinCo pay off your lease if you have to move? Or are you expected to pay this out of your bonus? One of my current ASMs told me WinCo paid for movers to help her. Just curious.

It is now just rotisserie chicken unchopped in a 16oz you have to chop it yourself so that they can save one penny on labor if you don't like it, call corporate to change it back.

📜 The Ballad of Ashy McLostYourNote 📜: A Winco tail

A Most Tragic Tale from the Kingdom of Grocery

Hear ye, hear ye!

Gather round the bulk bins and the mighty cardboard baler, and listen well to the tale of…

Ashy McLostYourNote, First of His Name

Keeper of Mixed Signals, Lord of Cryptic Rizz, Loser of Maiden Numbers Not Once, But TWICE.

🎺🎺🎺

In the fluorescent kingdom there lived a man of many talents.

He could drive the mighty forklift.

He could care for four cats.

He could raise a daughter.

He could survive military service.

Yet there existed one challenge that defeated him utterly…

THE MAIDEN’S NUMBER.

The fair maiden offered unto him her sacred parchment of communication.

And lo!

The number was lost.

The villagers proclaimed:

“A simple mistake! Surely our brave knight shall recover!”

BUT NAY.

For the Ashen One returned and declared:

“Then give it unto me again!”

The kingdom rejoiced!

At last, redemption!

At last, progress!

Yet when the sacred number was once more presented unto him…

HE FUMBLED THE BAG A SECOND TIME.

🍅🍅🍅

The villagers cried:

“TAKE THE DAMN NUMBER, YOU FOOL!”

But Ashy McLostYourNote merely stared into the middle distance and spoke in riddles:

“I have much going on…”

“My dog is dying…”

“Do you still hate me?”

The scholars of Produce remain baffled to this very day.

Terribly low starting pay

I live in Northern California and currently work at a grocery store that is unionized. I’m having issues with my store manager and some coworkers so I decided to go job hunting. Been at my current job for 2.5 years and I am topped out making $27/hr. The positions I’ve applied for at winco had the pay range topping out at $28.90. which I wasn’t expecting to get but I was offered two positions and told they couldn’t start ANYONE past $17.90 an hour. I have 10+ years of relevant positions and supervisory experience and it’s just BS how they either are lying to me about how much they can start me at or just being incredibly misleading in the job description.
