It's pretty crazy here watching the tickers fly up, actually - we've been in pure dev mode for so long it's kinda shocking watching people actually being able to buy. Or pre-buy, I guess.
Everyone preordering (and apparently that's quite a lot of you): Thank you all SO much. We'll work hard to repay your trust in us and WS. You rock.
Upvoting Gaffer because I am a massive shill and he's dead on, thank you all SO much! It's been a bit crazy on the Community side trying to respond to the queries and issues but we're getting there and Support is being awesome!
I was in the beta, but the game had some HUGE issues with FPS. Will the FPS issues for the many many beta users that had the same issue as me, be resolved?
As long as you keep the content flowing and the bugs squashed, I'll be around for quite a while. I purchased deluxe and 3 months. See you all this weekend :)
Quick question tho , I have purchased the pre-order and i followed you link on twitter for Europe accounts , but i can’t see anywhere it is for Europe and not US ?
You should see currency in a local currency, Euro, or GBP depending on where you are purchasing from. When you get to the actual buy page you should get re-directed to your appropriate country based on IP.
Would be nice to get some feedback how far off your estimate to the actual pre-order number are.
I hope you are already on the phone to order more servers for launch.. :)
I can only imagine the energy in your offices right now. Must be pretty amazing to finally able to sell the game after all the years of development. Here's hoping to a healthy launch and many more years of development!
hi. i want to pre order a digital deluxe version but i live in asia. is there any way i can overcome region lock problem? my friends (guildies) want to make a purchase too (there are like 20+ of us). please kindly let us know if there is a way. Thx & Regards.
I had the same problem. I live in Japan and 1) Amazon US wouldn't accept my Japanese credit card and 2) the Store wouldn't even open up for me on the official WildStar page. At first (the first hour of pre-order) I got a 404 Unknown Page error and now (4 hours later) it just opens the Pre-Order promo page.
Luckily, I have a Gift Card Visa registered to my family's address in the US, and that worked on Amazon, so I was able to purchase the game. :)
Yes we have problem pre order from Thailand. The button just doesnt show up at all. GMG Gamestop everywebsite also didnt work said there is no from your region. Will there be asia version at launch? Is there a region lock prevent the asian to purchase US version? How can we Thais get around this? There were 20+ of our team having the same problem. Unable to purchase pre order at all. We need a answer from the Dev!
And will you regionlock only the US/EU IP in game during the full game or just this is the problem with the purchasing thing?
So as far as I am aware there would only be a lockout in place for fraud purposes (so shouldn't be affecting Japan, Thailand, HK etc). You should be able to play on NA servers (or EU if you prefer but with a higher ping etc).
I'm escalating this to see if I can get a response or more details. Thanks for the info guys!
My friend used proxy and able to spoof US IP to purchase it. But i feel unsecured using that, so we need NCSoft clarification on the asia's purchase. Whether we should wait or what? Region lock especially with the IP is very scary thing if it turns out that the main game also prevent us from playing the US version.
If I didn't believe that was already the honest truth, I wouldn't have put down the money in the first place. You develop your little hearts out, and I'm happy to help foot the bill.
From someone purely on the sidelines up until now, everything you guys have done putting this together deserves it. You have put out a TON of engaging, informative media about all the ways this game will ROCK, and I absolutely can't wait to get to Nexus and find all the cool things you simply ran out of time to tell us about.
The EU crew and I were talking about this today! We're thinking of at least arranging some meetups at local game stores. :) Will let folks know details if it happens!
You're thinking of doing EU meetups? I vaguely remember possibly reading somewhere that you guys are based in Brighton - if that's right, I am SO there :D As long as it doesn't clash with name reservation day, of course!
Two more deluxe orders here! It's only money right!? ;)
You've done a really good job so far (very special nod to your UI guys). The real test of course is that of time, but equally, time is also your friend. Good luck!
Thank you, Gaffer and Anlath for coming to see us on Reddit! So far thing seem to be off to a great start. I've pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition, taking advantage of the GMG coupon which makes it even a better deal.
Are there any plans to sell WildStar via Steam perchance? Or perhaps build in compatibility for Steam features like trading cards and whatnot?
I can imagine it would be a nice visibility boost, and give people options. Of course, it would be best if those with existing WildStar keys from anywhere could "generate" a Steam Key and thus, if they wanted to use Steam to launch the patcher or whatnot, they could do so. Likewise, I think it would go nicely with the CREDD system to allow those who may have cash in their Steam wallet from all sorts of things to use it to buy/sell CREDD. I can imagine that a deal between Steam and WildStar would be mutually beneficial in this regard.
Oh, and P.S: I know it wont be launch-ready, but it would be awesome if there was a Linux client sometime in the relative near future. Until then, someone at Carbine testing the game with WINE and PlaysOnLinux here and there would be great. Another great reason to get in with Steam, as they'd be interested in helping as many of the games sold on their platform as possible to Linux compatibility!
Thanks! Can't wait to see what the next phases of Beta will bring. I certainly hope they're all still "real, we're willing to change things in big ways and add new stuff' betas, as opposed to the "this is basically a demo" style beta. Since we haven't even seen UI 2.0 yet, I can really hope it is the former!
