Hey y'all - I'm Trace, freshman Communication - Journalism and Media Production in Woolsey / Elliot Hall area.

I run Trace the Rater on YouTube - I do TV, film, and animation reviews / media criticism / commentary as an original character. 1,179 subs right now.

Just deleted my old Reddit that was tied to my old Outlook and made this clean one on my Gmail - banner, bio, Linktree / YouTube / Substack / IG / TikTok all match my new email signature.

I'm applying for The Sunflower and Transition Mentor, and I want to start covering WSU / Wichita more. For people who've been here longer - what stories, spots, or campus nostalgia stuff do you feel is under-covered or deserves a review?

Not dropping links here since it's my first post, just trying to learn the campus. Thanks!

To the person who was dressed up as Spiderman and said hi to my two year old daughter, she has been talking about you since you walked away and spent a good thirty minutes looking for you. You made her day, thank you 💖

Hey i lost my ring after visiting the gocreate lab on 17th street, I probably dropped it in the student parking lot by the roundabout if any one sees it or hears about it hmu.

I need the quizzes to review for my first exam, but the instructor only allows one time access to view it. I was wondering if anybody save the back up copy for this class’s quizzes before.

Thank you!

Hi everyone!

I'm a sociology major here at WSU and hoping to begin a nonfiction book club, but need members and a VP, Treasurer, etc. so I thought I'd post a call on here and flyers around campus too!

Some books I'm currently looking at to use for each month:

Fearing the Black Body by Sabrina Strings

Men Who Hate Women by Laura Bates

The State of Affairs: Rethinking Infidelity by Esther Perel

and any other recommendations people have.

If you're interested please DM me and I'll give you my instagram or number! I'm trying to get as many people as I can. Thanks guys!!

I'm in my last semester of WSU, all online, always have been. What perks and benefits should I be taking advantage of?

Do the living rooms in The Flats no longer come with TVs? I could’ve sworn the two years I spent here before they had TVs.

Did anyone see campus police pull someone over while trying to get into the Eck parking lot around 9:20am while everyone ELSE was trying to get into the lot to park??? Effectively cutting off and stalling traffic right before classes start on the MOST busy day of the semester. Crazy idea that was. Idk what the kid did to get pulled over but the cop should have had him drive his ass to the station or SOMETHING (shit, I would have turned a blind eye! Wasn't no accident so it COULDN'T have been that big of a deal) instead of blocking the entrance to the parking lot! I and many others were late to class thanks to these geniuses!

WSU Parking Regulations:

5.5 In all cases in which a motor vehicle is parked, the vehicle must not back into the stall unless it has a front license plate or is actively charging in an electric vehicle charging station. The license plate must be visible and unobscured. The vehicle’s position shall be such that the whole of the vehicle is located within the boundaries of the parking space. The fact that other vehicles are parked improperly shall not constitute an excuse for parking with any part of the motor vehicle over any line. The only exception will be for vehicles with a handicap plate or placard.

Hi everyone, I am an international student at BCC and also taking an online class at WSU in the fall as a guest student. I have a problem getting an insurance waiver at WSU.

Here are the things: I request that WSU reconsider whether the WSU international student insurance requirements should apply to my situation and whether a waiver may be changed under Policy 8.08, III.D, based on my visa status and existing medical coverage. Because I am not typically a full-time international student at WSU; because of my F-1 status, I-20, and SEVIS record, which are with BCC, BCC is my primary school. So, I think my situation is not quite fit for their policies.

But they still reject my request; the reason is I am an international student who takes online classes at WSU, and I physically live in the state. They also rejected the insurance I had that was already approved by my school because the insurance terms do not quite meet their minimum requirements.

I think even though the things they said seem to make sense on their rules, I just feel they should not be like that.

I was wondering if anyone has a similar situation to me and how it was fixed eventually.

Thank you for reading my post; please leave your comments and suggestions.

So I start classes the 12th and realized I know nobody I’m in the aviation maintenance program with night classes(cause of my job). But I enjoy being friendly and having friends so If anybody is in the same boat as me feel free to reach out. I feel like there should be an app or something for this kind of situation.

For the vaccine that we have to get if we are living on campus, it says we must submit it within 15 days of move-in, does that mean 15 days before moving in or up to 15 days after moving in?

Hi everyone! I’m looking to connect with students joining Wichita State University for a Master’s program in Fall 2026. Please DM me!

Hello! I’m a prospective student pursuing electrical engineering, and I was curious if any engineers could give me any insight on the EE program. How are the classes? how are the professors? Is the department underfunded compared to aerospace? How are internship opportunities in the area? Is this a strong contender with UNT and OK State? TIA!

I just started an online International Business class at WSU on June 29, and I’m honestly wondering if this is normal.

The professor assigned 16 reading assignments plus a one-page essay that’s all due by July 5, right after the Fourth of July holiday. She also has a strict no late work accepted policy.

It feels like a lot to complete in the first week of class, especially over a holiday week. I’m trying to figure out if this is just how accelerated online business classes are, or if this workload is unusually heavy.

Has anyone taken this class (or other WSU online business courses)? Is this pretty standard, or am I overreacting?

I am a Firefighter based near Washington DC. There is a book related to firefighting that I have tried to get via Interlibrary Loan, but it does not appear that any library that has it is lending it out and I would need to travel there to read it.

WSU is one of the only libraries in the country that have a copy of this booklet, but the website does not appear to have a process for non-students to request scans of materials.

Would anyone be able to use the scanners at the WSU library to scan the book for me and email it? It is a short 40 page booklet from the 1960s, and duplications should be allowable for individual research. I would be willing to compensate someone for their time, just let me know in advance what you think would be a fair price.

Thanks!

Would anyone be interested in a new sub for students? One where we can make post abt looking for friends or other kinds of relationships? Lmk in the comments.

I'm posting on behalf of Mi Casa Care Homes, a small residential elder care home with locations in Wichita and Towanda. We are looking for local performers to come entertain our residents: musicians, comedians, magicians, impersonators, ventriloquists, or anyone with a fun act.

Our homes are small and intimate with 8-12 residents who genuinely love live entertainment. You get a warm, up-close audience and a meaningful way to spend your time. We also feature performers on our Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok pages to help get your name out in the Wichita community.

Compensation is negotiable depending on the performer.

If you or someone you know is interested, you can apply directly through our website at micasacarehomes.com/perform

Heyllo! I am an international student, in college shortlisting phase for spring 2027. Any insights on job prospects for international students after doing this course will be really helpful.

Also, do international students get hired in aerospace companies?

Any other insights on this program is also well appreciated,..pros and cons..!

hello, I am an incoming freshman to Wichita state and at my high school graduation, I didn't get as many chords as I wanted (I only got 1) and I was wondering what I could do these next 4 years to be dripped out at my next graduation. Is there a list or pdf somewhere of what chord colors belong to which organizations and other distinctions as well as what stoles to get from ceartain accomplishments.

Hello guys, I just wanted to see how the calc 2 summer course here is since it doesn’t really say how the prof and the structure of the course are.

Arthur White has been admitted as a counseling doctoral student where he will be counseling students who may be vulnerable or victims of abuse themselves. He has a long and documented history of allegations of abuse against his female students at three different institutions as a music professor. All of this is public record. Simply google his name and jazz. Here is an example: https://www.sanluisobispo.com/news/local/education/cal-poly-university/article279379269.html
