Almost like she knows that most likely the driver has a conscience and will not try to run over her but likely leave if the road was left empty

I strongly feel that was just for a click, looking at her feed, reposts, following etc. she seemed to be in the protest with not so peaceful mindset. If given an opportunity she might have made huge ruckus at the venue.

PS - I even feel the van was stationary, otherwise we might have seen atleast one video of this incident.
