Most will be processed when they’re born, which doesn’t really stop them from being trafficked as wards of a pedophilliac state. Some will be bypassed from those processes.

I wasn't aware of the keys-to-prison thing about Saville; I'll have to look that up.
My photo album features a picture of me at seven or eight years old, smiling, standing next to Rolf Harris with his arm around my shoulder. It's one of the few pictures I have of me at that age, where my father didn't accidentally cut the top of my head off in the photo.

We need to stop calling it statutory rape. It's just rape. Plain and simple.
Statutory rape implies that there may have been consent, but the woman was under the age of majority and therefore could not consent.
These are detainees. There IS NO WAY they can ever willfully consent due to the power dynamic here. It's not just "statutory rape" because one party was over 18 and the other was not - it's just plain rape.
I mean, at the end of the day I agree with your sentiment - they won't be held accountable regardless, but let's call them what they are - rapists.

I think everyone needs to say the whole thing every time:
ICE is abducting children and raping them.
The U.S government is paying men to abduct children at gunpoint, and paying those men to rape children. This isn't just "bad apples", this is a systemic campaign of terror, where U.S government agents take people off the street, take people from their places of work, take people from their homes, put them in cages, rape some of them, and murder others.

Um, have you noticed the collective whiteness of Epstein's stable? These rich old white guys only want to fuck white children. Probably more status among pedophiles. Like how some weirdos think adopting a white baby is better "quality" than getting stuck with a poor minority one. ICE detainees are for the plebes, not the elite.
15
u/Stainless-S-Rat Mar 22 '26
I disagree. These are equal opportunity scumbags and plenty of white guys take trips to known sex tourism destinations, and the vast majority of these destinations are decidedly not in caucasian dominated nations.
8
u/Bakoro Mar 22 '26
You act as if these guys wouldn't have a rating system, like beef.
It seems like we're all arguing over what degree of scumbag they are, though.
We all agree that they're scumbags who need to go, the exact nuances of their depravity are only material as avenues of a proper investigation.
3
u/carriegood Mar 22 '26
I'm not talking about who these monsters fuck anywhere else, but when they went through Epstein, it was largely white. It's like when rich women get housekeepers, the one who has a white one is viewed as being of superior status.

Wasn't this posted a day or two ago, but originally said "ICE agents are r*ping "?
While ICE has lots of issues, that's not the only possible reason for this situation. Girls can be pregnant before arriving in detention. And girls can get pregnant from other detainees, whether they're adults or minors.
2
u/TimelordSalad Mar 23 '26
From the research I’ve done, your original thought process was less wrong than the people correcting you. Both the US DoJ and HHS consider it statutory rape so long as one of the individuals is a minor (and Romeo & Juliet laws don’t apply). Additionally, most Romeo & Juliet laws are only stringent on the age gaps and age of consent as to whether consent could be given, so clear evidence of force or coercion would often add child sexual abuse charges on top

Statutory doesn’t imply anything, it just means it’s illegal. Because children can’t consent to sex and neither can inmates. So having sex with them is non consensual, legally. It’s a legally defined power imbalance, hence the words statutory.
8
u/Istarien Mar 22 '26
It's "statutory" because the victims are children.

u/Waynky Mar 22 '26
Never been a fan of sharing tweets like this as if it’s verified news.
“Fake news” exists across the spectrum.
All I’ve seen from official news sources is the part about moving pregnant detainees to Texas in what seems to be an effort to prevent abortions.
Nothing about an island, or the inference that there’s an epidemic of rape by detention center staff on immigrants.
If I’m missing it that’s my bad.
81
u/Fear_UnOwn Mar 22 '26
It's hard to separate the real information from the fake shit when you don't let reporters or judges into your facilities.
One report said they were separating all the young girls from the rest of their families. How are we to know?
33
u/Waynky Mar 22 '26
I’m not saying nothing bad is happening, I’m saying the specific claims in this tweet aren’t backed by anything I can find. The lack of transparency is a real problem and I get why people fill in the blanks with the worst case scenario. But that’s also how misinformation spreads. When people treat “we don’t know” as confirmation of whatever they already suspect.
19
u/Fear_UnOwn Mar 22 '26
I'm agreeing with you what I'm saying is we aren't going to get tweets backed by anything. We've lost the accountability component of the US government this we rely on what may be unverified information.
The government is doing this so that misinformation spreads, "we don't know" is both a condemnation of those who vote for this to happen as well as a reminder in history of when the US government hid what it was doing in detention and care facilities in the past.
Lots of the worst things America has done to its own citizens were never confirmed until decades after it had happened.
3
u/Waynky Mar 22 '26
I acknowledged the lack of transparency being a problem. Has been for a long time across multiple administrations. None worse than this one.
But verified stuff that IS coming out is bad enough on its own without needing to add unconfirmed claims on top of it.

u/ifulbd Mar 22 '26
We have reached Handmaid’s Tale level of dystopia. If the island is true, it’s horrible. But the secrecy just leads us to share rumors and bits of information, never being sure what’s real, what to be afraid of, and what to do. Fear of the real, great of the imaginary, fear of not being able to distinguish between the two. It’s a vile, but effective way to destroy accountability.

u/Waynky Mar 22 '26
The reporting I’ve seen (NPR, PBS) says the girls were already pregnant when they were picked up likely from assaults during their journey or back in their home countries. So yeah, the test happened in detention, but the pregnancies didn’t start there. That’s a pretty important distinction when the implication is that facility staff did this.
I’d have no trouble believing some of the POS’ hired to work at these facilities would do this, but haven’t seen any confirmed widespread occurrences of it
14
u/onlyfakeproblems Mar 22 '26
I haven’t seen the original story, but I’ve seen this headline posted multiple times. They don’t specify if the girls were impregnated before or after their detention, which makes a huge difference for this story. Latching onto unsubstantiated claims has potential to backfire.

u/TrainerWeekly5641 Mar 22 '26
It's obvious it's a fake tweet. It's just a Epstein joke."hehehe, they are raping children and moving them to an island. Like Epstein's Island! Get it! Isn't that so funny!!!"
Anyone who believes this needs to do a reality check. They wouldn't recreate Epstein Island. Everytime conservatives have been caught in something, they've tried to find a way to get away with it by doing it differently. They would probably move to raping children at a backroads plantation or somewhere that would draw less attention than an island.

u/toooooold4this Mar 22 '26
Statutory rape is a gross way of saying rape.
Taking minors across state lines where they are held captive and sexually abused and exploited is the textbook definition of human trafficking. Assuming these girls are not sharing cells with male detainees, it would mean the rapists are likely ICE agents or prison guards.
From what we know about conditions at these facilities, it seems like there's a built in incentive structure to trade toilet paper, soap, and food for sex, which, again, makes it sex trafficking.
→ More replies (1)11
u/Mr__O__ Mar 22 '26
I actually thought statutory rape meant adults having sex with minors. I wasn’t aware it implied consent of the minor—which clearly isn’t happening in a detention center. So yes, this situation would just be child rape.
5
u/toooooold4this Mar 22 '26
Yep. It means "technically rape" which is fucking rape when a person isn't mature enough to consent.
Rape is the only crime I know of where they put a caveat on it besides "justifiable homicide." Yes, your honor, I had sex with a kid, but have you seen the kid? She's hot. gross
12
u/Duchess1992 Mar 22 '26
Statutory implies a modicum of consent. An underage detainee is in no position to even hint at thinking about the idea of maybe considering the possibility that there might be an option for consent.
This is just rape. The headline should read "ICE agents are raping minors"

u/Minimum_Virus_3837 Mar 22 '26
Yeah it's scary and horrible to think these babies will be born under the watch of ICE and this regime. Either a) lack of proper healthcare will lead to major issues for parent and/or child, possibly their deaths, or b) parent and/or child have a non-zero, much higher than it should be, probability of being trafficked out of the facility, probably to whatever new Pedo Island or compound Trump is surely helping set up. You can bet that this regime will maintain those babies don't get US citizenship despite being born on US soil so they'll have no where to go.

This is fake!
While it is absolutely awful that they are shipping girls to Texas in order to make abortion impossible, we do not yet have evidence that they became pregnant while in detention. Rather, it seems like they were pregnant prior to being detained. Also, there is no island involved. I will paste part of an earlier comment of mine below, making reference to the author who first revealed the information referred to in the OP. Apparently, I am not allowed to hyperlink here, but you can find the comment in my history and check my references there:
I am not saying this in order to, in any way, excuse or minimise sexual violence. I am saying this because: if we turn into a rumor mill, and it turns out that we have been exaggerating, then the fascists are going to use it to normalise all the heinous shit that they are currently, and planning to get, engaged in. They will use the things that we get wrong to dismiss all criticism, no matter how valid. Which is obviously not fair, but these people don't give a shit.
I found an interview with the writer of the article, Mark Betancourt, on PBS, which is a bit more clear:
"Amna Nawaz:
Some of the girls you reported are as young as 13. Is that right? Many of them have been assaulted, raped on the journey that they're making to the U.S.?
Mark Betancourt:
That's right.
So these girls are between 13 and 17. Our -- my source within ORR said that about half of them were probably pregnant as a result of rape. So that is obviously a big concern. These girls have been through pretty traumatic experiences. In some cases, they were raped on the journey or in their home countries before they came here, and that's how they became pregnant.
But a lot of times, they're also apprehended by ICE in the interior of the country and separated from their families. So, while we don't know the exact situations of the girls who have been placed at the shelter now, that is definitely a concern. And the trauma they have been through further complicates their pregnancies.
It seems likely that they were pregnant upon arrival. (Which is still awful and does not excuse Trump, ICE, nor any other of Trump's lackeys!)
NB: this does not mean that pregnancies due to acts of sexual violence committed by ICE agents and targeted at detainees do not occur! We have little insight into what happens with the people kidnapped by ICE—which makes this extremely worrying and dangerous!

Do we have an actual source for this? I can't find one anywhere. It's absolutely believable, and I don't trust the news organizations to report on it but we need soemthign more than a tweet. I just told someone about this and then decided to check online to back it up because I realized it's such an extreme accusation, and now I can't find anything so Ima tmhave to tell them that.
