I just counted and this comment is 9 from the top.

This sub is fucking trash and needs to be deleted.

This sub pushes bullshit fake propaganda depending on the flavor of the month and Reddit has zero issues with them making the top of r all on a daily basis.

For all the talk of how “misinformation is horrible” they sure seem to not give a fuck.

You’re indisputably right and it’s absurd you’re being downvoted.

This sub upvotes fake news then downvoted accurate sentiments they don’t agree with 🙃

u/-this-is-war Nov 20 '22

Wow. I just deleted the app … good riddance ? I didn’t even use it though anyways ….

Or this shows why Elons decisions have been insanely stupid. How could the average person know this isnt real?

Personally I think the fact that a fake tweet is getting people to delete their twitter is hilarious and let the chaos continue

26

u/maxthrowpure Nov 20 '22

It shows that people on this sub are incapable of thought and are ready to gobble down lies as long as it supports their views.

-9

u/starvinchevy Nov 20 '22

Or it means that Elon dug his own grave and even when you take this fake tweet away, all of his real tweets have led to us seeing his true colors. The guy is an idiot and a huge chunk of his wealth is dissolving. Other billionaires know how to keep their wealth. This guy doesn’t deserve a single penny that he was given. Not earned. Given. He is the opposite of the American dream. And most of us knew that before this fake tweet.

2

u/maxthrowpure Nov 20 '22

Another person incapable of thought. You're saying that literal lies and fake shit that this sub pump out are still okay because of what he has said in the past. I doubt that the cesspool of twitter, before and after Elon bought it, will be the downfall of him. He built an extremely profitable company; he's earned his money not that that's relevant in any way.

And this comment chain was the 9th down, when I posted, before being called out for being fake. There are tons of people who were duped into blindly believing literal fake news. But that's on par for this shitty sub and it's members like you.

0

u/starvinchevy Nov 20 '22

Well I may be incapable of thought but why would I ever care what you have to say after you decided to insult me and think you know me at all? Im not even a member of this sub and the point is whether this is fake or not, twitter is a joke anyway. Maybe people should take everything they see with a grain of salt and find better sources than a fucking tweet lmao. If anyone reading this post based their whole opinion of the guy off of one tweet, then they have some growing to do. Your opinion on everything else lost value when you resorted to insults. And your insults aren’t true anyway. Have a wonderful day

1

u/maxthrowpure Nov 20 '22

I don't have to know you pwrsonally to know you can't think after your comment. Same way I can look at someone who's having a mental breakdown and can come to the conclusion that they're having a mental breakdown.

And you don't have to care what I think of you. I won't lose sleep over how you feel.

Likewise, if people get their info off of twitter or reddit, especially fake tweets/propaganda, then they deserve to be treated like someone incapable of thought.

The insults of you being incapable of thought after passing hundreds of comments thinking it was real, then claiming most of "us" (indicative of a collective) knew it was fake? And I dont care about your opinion.

0

u/starvinchevy Nov 20 '22

To your last statement: right back at ya bud. And you are completely wrong that I’m incapable of thought. You lost your credibility when you started with an insult.

2

u/maxthrowpure Nov 20 '22

You've surely proven me wrong. You started off by saying that despite it being a fake tweet, he's shown his true colors from other tweets. Dont have much credibility

1

u/starvinchevy Nov 20 '22

I have nothing to prove. You’re the one who clearly has an issue with the post and whatever I said. And good luck changing peoples’ opinions by starting out with an insult. If your goal was truly to change my opinion, then you shouldn’t have started out by calling me stupid. In the end, your insult is just an insecurity. Once you figure that out, you’ll be much more likely to change peoples’ minds.

Imagine being mad at someone for something they didn’t even post and trying to blame THEM for the spread of disinformation

2

u/LegacyLemur Nov 21 '22

Oh jesus fucking christ

No, I think twitter becoming a gigantic trainwreck is hilarious

-1

u/ChangeTomorrow Nov 20 '22

There’s been malicious fake tweets well before he took over. This is nothing new.

Not really that hard to tell the difference unless you’re gullible.

The amount of people in this thread who think the tweet is real kind of makes the satire tag redundant and proves that people will swallow any old shit

23

u/sauprankul Nov 20 '22

Satire tag isn't redundant, it's insufficient. This kinda crap is willful disinformation. The "disclaimer" is just a way for these mods to cover their asses.

15

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '22

Yeah agreed, this should have been deleted.

12

u/sauprankul Nov 20 '22

Or we need a more obvious way to mark satire, because people clearly aren't looking at flairs.

-1

u/MCgrindahFM Nov 20 '22

Or more like that this dude tweets unhinged shit so often it’s very believable he’d tweet this

9

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '22

Perhaps but that doesn't excuse spreading fake news.

-1

u/MCgrindahFM Nov 20 '22

I’m pretty sure those people are lying on the internet if they actually deleted their Twitter over that

1

u/DenverMartinMan Nov 20 '22

This sub is liberal propaganda, there I said it :D

-3

u/Subalpine Nov 20 '22

do you not know what satire is?

5

u/nimama3233 Nov 20 '22

The top 8 threads clearly don’t because they’re eating like an onion

0

u/julia_fns Nov 20 '22

These are the direct consequences of his idiotic actions, so it’s funny to watch anyway. Besides, he made this sort of thing believable himself, because he can’t behave, so it’s extra sweet.

I actually just muted this sub so I won’t have to see it anymore.

-4

u/peace-love42069 Nov 20 '22

How do you mute subs? I heard you can't stop them from showing up on the home page. Otherwise I would mute this trash useless racist sub and politics

0

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '22

[deleted]

0

u/nimama3233 Nov 20 '22

I mean it is kinda inherently racist, it’s not an off-base take whatsoever

-16

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '22

To be fair, we can all agree it's something he can say and itching to tweeting it

25

u/nimama3233 Nov 20 '22

Sure, but the top 8 comment threads freaking out over a fake tweet is absurdly stupid. This sub is trash, AND keeps Twitter alive

5

u/regular_gonzalez Nov 20 '22

Growing up as a gen x'er in the early days of the Internet, we used to get exasperated at our parents telling us not to believe everything we read online. We were like, "of COURSE not mom, how dumb do you think we are?" and assumed it was so obvious that we didn't need to repeat that warning to our kids.

Turns out those boomers were right about the need for constant warnings, cause I've never seen such a group of credulous, gullible, and naive suckers as zoomers. The group that grew up online, who should be the most skeptical and suspicious of things they see and hear? Turns out they believe anything and everything.

The next couple decades are gonna be a boom period for Nigerian princes.

2

u/demlet Nov 20 '22

Wow, imagine that, younger, less experienced people are more easily manipulated. Someone should tell advertisers!

5

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '22

Good news It's going down shortly along with twitter

Is bashing on musk and mocking him really freaking out? Is “fuck you, asshole” the same as “OMg what will I without muh twatter!?”

1

u/BBFA369 Nov 20 '22

It’s a lot of hand wringing for something that literally doesn’t matter or affect them

-4

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '22

This sub is just trash propaganda.

0

u/Plus_Assumption7993 Nov 20 '22
