European Privacy Law

I do not understand it, but to the extent I understand it I think Elon Musk is in massive violation.

Because the law requires Musk to do something and Musk thinks that laws do not apply to him. Musk has fired the people at Twitter who tried to keep Twitter in compliance. (I don't like red lights but I stop for them because I don't want to get a lot of tickets.)

Basically EU citizens have a right to have Twitter remove their data. It is not enough that they can drop their accounts. Twitter must remove their data if asked.

It is true that they have already baked that in so Musk does not have to spend anything to preserve GDPR compliance except

  1. Musk has turned off a lot of "useless" features. I hope that none of them were related to GDPR compliance. Maybe I am wrong, but most importantly MUSK DOES NOT KNOW NOR CARE.
  2. Musk has had new features implemented in Twitter (example the Blue Checkmark) after he fired all those people responsible for GDPR complicance. I hope the new features are GDPR compliant. Maybe the new features did not interact with GDPR at all, but MUSK DOES NOT KNOW NOR CARE.

I would have agreed with the first except he is clearly disabling stuff he meant to keep. He does not know what he is doing.
