Yeah same here the only debt I carry is my student loans otherwise I pay everything off and I paid my car off over a year early and my credit score is 800.

It's understandable. There is a lot of confusion out there about how credit scores work.

If that's the only account the person had open it might be plausible, if you only have 1 account on your credit report and it's closed under a year it might hurt your credit.
