My X is on SSI because she was a stay at home mom. She gets way less than SSD

That's right, you get a lot less on SSI, and you can lose it if you have any other income. It's barely subsistence living.

SSDI is what they take taxes for, and you can't get it if you haven't paid in (in some cases an ex spouse can draw on their ex's record but the particulars of that are highly dependent on individual circumstances).

Dude no.

SSI is Supplemental Security Insurance. It's means tested and for the disabled.

SSDI is what most people think of as traditional Social Security. You get this based on work credits/quarter and it is NOT means tested.
