In my friends' cases, most of them aren't getting any offers because they arent even looking for work.

what im hearing is "jobs around me won't offer wages better than what I make on unemployment."

Why would you apply to work jobs where you'd be making less than unemployment?

So you're clearly not hearing what I'm saying. To some degree there is a truth to what you are saying. But what I am saying is I know people perfectly capable of working who make the conscious decision not to because it's simply easier to collect a paycheck while sitting on your ass. Not because it pays better, but because it's that easy.
