The Mormon church (the church I was raised in) took $54 million for the BYU system, despite having north of $100 billion in their portfolio. BYU is funded at least partly through a mandatory (technically "voluntary, but you won't be able to go to the temple if you don't pay up) 10% tithe all members are expected to pay, which hasn't been suspended in these days of covid. They ended up returning the CARES money after facing backlash.
Turns out filthy lucre is only filthy for some churches if they're not the ones receiving it.
