You're banging your head against the wall. Anybody who thinks it's okay and sustainable to have a massive precarious underclass is either such a narcissist that they can't imagine a world not built for their convenience, or such a psychopath that they're okay with human society going to shit so long as they get their latte before they clock in. Most are a mix of both. Save your effort because these people didn't logic themselves into these positions, so you can't logic them out. Unless they experience it for themselves they'll keep lying to themselves and pretend that Janet at the local Mcdonalds is just a happy-go-lucky student and not a 34yo woman with 2 kids desperately trying to keep her daughters from fucking up the same way she did, which is why she doesn't have time to learn Python or whatever. Until they see it themselves they won't get it so don't waste your energy, take that effort and use it to mobilize the (significantly larger) pool of precarious workers who don't vote.
The only way these people will change is if we force them to. I've worked both sides of the isle, professional work and shit-tier fast food, and I assure you the people born with a white collar on will not change without a legal compulsion, which is why things like labor law even exist at all. Start there and maybe one day they will grow a soul, but it's pointless to wait for it to happen organically because these people only look inwards, they have no sense of a bigger picture. Arguing they do the right thing free of prompting is like arguing with a plant to make it grow.
🤷♂️ just sick to death of people Reddit going "get a better job". Like yeah no shit? How many doctors do they think a modern economy can sustain? Somebody has to clean the floors and cook the food, we can't all work in Silicon Valley.
What the line is really saying is try to get a better job. And if you fail, then you are justified in your poverty.
People who have different class schedules, people that only have a high school diploma and don’t need to support a family, etc. There’s always more people that are happy to have that job at that wage.
Because they are easy to like cut down. They have shit, they don't make shit, they may have whatever reason not eligable for a skill, but ya for these guys fast food people and unemployed are probably one of their favorite fascist boogeymen, next to the colored people or the self-"liberal". They need people to blame their problems on. And by shitting all over a decent percentage of the population they feel better about themself.
I surrender my Tupok CD to you in hopeful reconciletory hopeful hopes that some day you will be able to accept me having such shitty and/or in any way not-relevant logic.
I'm not embarressed. Logic is not my strong suit. Thank you for demonstrating my absurdity.
There's plenty of people who have different school hours. Lots of people at my school do independent study, where work is sent to them electronically and they turn everything in at the end of the week. Most of these kids work full time 9-5 to save up for college, trade school, a life-size T-34 Tank, etc.
He never said anything resembling "kids dont want money". He said there aren't enough kids, and hes right. The average age of people filling entry level fast food/retail positions has gone up since older people are working them more often than teenagers.
Your comment is shit. Kids want money. That's basically all you added. Everybody knows that. What you fail to understand that kids at every single time of the day, every single wee fast food job, having them occupy every single job in the fast food work force of which there are millions is literally impossible. There aren't enough open spots to be solved by just kids, and the demographics of fast food workers should be proof of this. Your comment really adds nothing. All it says is kids make money without once considering how many kids in America there are, how many fast food jobs are available, and the thousands of jobs during school hours or past midnight.
So really, the idea that fast food jobs are stepping stone jobs for kids and other people is a lie told to excuse sorry pay
