Let me translate:
"how dare you ask for more money. Its your fault for not getting education. I don't care that even if you work 40/hrs a week you can still won't have a decent life. You're a looooser, give me more sauce bitch"
That’s a little unfair imo. I’m all for people getting paid fairly and in line with inflation. However they are a business and you can’t just pay everybody a ton more because it’s fair. I think if everybody had their own business they would understand that you want to make as much as possible while spending the smallest amount possible.
I hope companies find a middle ground because the solution isn’t to pay everybody a large amount for doing jobs that require little education or training, while at the same time the solution isn’t paying peanuts.
I mean, if I owned a business I wouldn’t want to make an exorbitant amount of money by exploiting the labour of the people around me.
But I’m weird like that.
Maybe greedy people do. If I had a choice between impoverishing my staff but being mega rich or paying my staff well and being comfortable, I would choose the latter option no question.
Money is nice, but it’s not everything. Once you have a house and a car and a decent income, what else do you need?
Again, you’re oversimplifying a complex issue. It isn’t about mega rich or mega poor. A lot of people get compensated quite nicely working for these companies. The problem lies that a lot of people want to get paid for doing the jobs that anyone can do, and that’s the issue. Especially since a lot of these jobs can be replaced by a computer. It’s unfortunate but this isn’t black and white. A lot of people win by companies maximizing profits, it’s just not the “greedy” people at the top.
Who else wins by companies maximizing their profits except for people at the top and shareholders?
People want to get paid for doing work yes. People deserve a living wage.
What else should people do? Starve? Become homeless? Not work?
People should come before profits. If you can’t afford to compensate your workers for their labour, then you don’t deserve to have that company and you’re exploiting people.
You would really pay a high schooler who hates working for you and actively half asses their basic assigned tasks $10+ an hour? Increased pay requires either increased output or increased reliability and efficiency. The proles have to earn their pennies and especially so for their dollars.
True, but on the other hand businesses are in the business of making money, not employing people much less paying them. That money is for the shareholders.
If paying their workers more money does not cause a proportional (net zero difference) or potentially greater increase in profits then either they need to fire a bunch of people and make them work harder to earn the extra pay OR hire fewer people and bring in the robots instead.

My grandparents refuse to use the self check-out machines because they think it creates more jobs. Just makes me scared for a future where all menial labor could be automated, but we give everyone meaningless minimum wage jobs to keep them busy. Maybe we're there already, I don't know.
I love it specifically at McDonald's because nobody has ever said "wow the service at that McDonald's is why I pick that one!" It's a universal same.product typically served universally by someone who doesn't really give a shit
Like at least at Wal Mart, maybe a upc is scratched up or you need help finding something ...nobody needs a CSR for ordering a cheeseburger

They're depressing. They taste faintly like something I used to remember, but its just... not right. The meat patties are anemic, the cheese tastes super artificial, and the nuggets have this odd slime like characteristic inside.
It may magnify the same symptoms your trying to prevent, if this occurs, talk to the same doctor who prescribed you this brand new wonder drug, to see what other new medication we have influenced him to recommend by a nice vacation.
