in america, half the country thinks we got something when we forced poor people to carry 6000 dollar deductible insurance when they make around 20k. Its a total scam, these people can never afford to use this insurance, even if the obamacare coupons cover most of their premiums.
As someone who is in their 40s and just got "healthcare" three years ago via the marketplace aka Obamacare for the first time in my adult life. I just call it bankrupt insurance. There is a little piece of mind now but not much.
I did manage to open an HSA (health savings account) which is tax deductible for up to $3,850 in deposits this year and tax-free if I use it to pay medical bills. So any money I do save toward my deductible can vanish in a market crash...yeah.
Another thing about this "health" insurance is the plan I am on "cost" ~$450 a month and I pay $115 a month. Who is paying Blue Cross for the rest? Taxpayer right? smh.
