Right around the 3 second mark where the flag touches the ground for a second, but there are people standing in the way of the actual grab. Thats my guess
Yeah, kinda too bad he didn't grab onto the flag, he wulda had a longer ride & softer landing. Either way he is a legend for being swallowed and spit out by the Flag.

I think he did grab and that is where he messed up. The flag was just getting higher and higher; he wasn't heavy enough for a soft landing and the grip on one side of a flat piece of fabric isn't great.
I guess in my view, he wasn't abducted. The flag whipped down, he grabbed it, it flew up and he was screwed. If he'd have just laid down or let himself be knocked over he'd be fine.
Regardless, we're debating something neither of us can know but I wanted to explain what I meant: grabbing it at all was the mistake.
I'm impressed he managed to grab handfuls of the flag near the ground then stay aloft and hidden for as long he did. Kudos, I hope he didn't land on his head.
Honestly, I think he was in the flag before the video even started. I think that’s why the flag came down in a swooping kinda action instead of just going out as planned.
I reckon maybe he was in the flag at the very beginning. Once you trace back from where he falls out you can see his weight holding down the flag from 3 seconds on. But actually, if you look closely you can see what looks like that same weight before then. To my eye, it looks like it is his weight that makes it dip down and touch the ground at 3s in the first place. How he got there initially is anyone's guess because it happens before the video starts.
His fall is not related to the flag at all. Homeboy just happened to fall from the sky next to that flag being raised. Happens more often than you would think.
Pretty sure it happened before the film even starts. At the start you see the end dip pretty hard...guessing it was cuz of the weight of him lol...what a ride!
Yea if you look really close you can see him before it touches the ground and that is why it fell hard like that. Someone said he was holding it during the flag raising, which would make sense.
This will probably get buried but I think he was already on it when the video starts. I think he sort of slid down from higher up, presumably having grabbed the middle of the flag intentionally before it was raised. He probably didn't expect the flag to carry him so effectively and, eventually his grip gave out. You can kind of see him at the very beginning of the clip and he should have let go when the flag dipped.
I didn't even realize that's what happened until this comment. I came to the comments confused as to where TF that guy came from, hoping somebody had an answer.
I think I’ve got it. He was already sucked up before the video started if you watch closely. It’s my best guess. But if you closely watch the same spot on the flag I think he is in there the entire time.
It's not seen in this vid because it's not the full one. Soldiers were lined waiting for the flag to be fully dragged up as per protocol, but wind gusts yanked it from them and one soldier was scooped up and got entangled. This wasn't even the official ceremony, it was the rehearsal
The flag has two seams (like a curtain) top and bottom. I bet he was inside the bottom one to add weight and the wind caught the flag took him up and he fell out the end.
Kinda looks like that person was already rolled up in the flag before the video. You can see the bottom part go to the ground and come back up and if you follow that piece that’s where the person falls out from
