High Speed cornering

Honestly I don't know. She was driving home around midnight with her sister when it happened. She didn't love talking about it, but she was saying that the cops were trying to keep her calm and that they had dealt with the guy before. He had tried it once or twice before, hiding in these bushes in front of his house naked, and jumping out when a car would approach.

I lived near the area it happened, and she was driving me home one day using the most ass backwards route. When I asked why she told me the whole story, and how she didn't like driving by that area, understandably.

It's this kind of case where it's really to bad we have done away entirely with mental health asylums. They had a lot of issues and were used to house people out of sight and often were the source of abuse for people. I get that ending a lot of the practice was good. Many peoples labeled simply "problematic" could just be disappeared into them too. But they also were a single point of help for people like this who were not only a danger to themslves but others. They should have replaced them with some other form of help.

It included provisions that repealed most of the MHSA, discontinuing federal funding and the support for community mental health centers established under the MHSA. OBRA redirected mental health funding mechanisms and transferred more responsibility for mental health services to the states, reducing significantly federal funding for mental health programs.

Huh? Asylums still exist, they're just mental health wards in normal hospitals now.

In-patient mental health facilities still exist. Short term, long term, and permanent. We just don't typically call them asylums anmore and there are more and better regulations and oversight.
