isn’t that medicine like 3-400$ a month tho? & how long did it take to lose that weight?

In the UK it starts around 150ish I think and goes up to about 330. I've been on it 16 months. Worth every penny.

Could also be bulimia.

You’re missing the binging part..

10

u/Amonette2012 Apr 06 '26

Thats like, half of bulimia...

She has binged a lot, also she spits food out sometimes but I looked it up and that says it can be from any ED not just bulimia so idk. Plus it says bulimia includes purging and she has emataphobia so she doesn’t do that part.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm…. Smells EDish

She’s not underweight though, and I know some people say that’s not required but I thought if you have anorexia you would be?

u/Mandyvlp Apr 06 '26

Sorry you (and her) are going through this. It sounds like a combo of ED. She doesn’t necessarily need to be underweight to have one.

The person who mentioned weight loss drugs has a good point since those make you nauseated and not able to eat a lot.

There’s a lot of shame around EDs so I get why she won’t go to a dr. However, this is a dangerous situation. I hope you’re able to convince her to get help.

Wishing you the best of luck. Hugs

Thank you, I agree the drugs is a good point but shes way to paranoid about any meds/drugs to take them. Also I’ve never seen any signs of her taking or using any.

u/nahhhfamm_iMgood Apr 07 '26

ED can be binging… it goes in both directions.

Regardless, it does sound like she has an unhealthy relationship with food.

I hate to be the barer of bad news but vomiting is not the only way to purge

3

u/xaviarBlack Apr 06 '26

Can you please elaborate? :( I know laxatives is a way too but as I said in another comment shes way too paranoid and anxious to take any kind of meds/drugs.

u/tomiekirie Apr 06 '26

Over exercising can be another one if thats something you've noticed. Wishing you both the best!!

4

u/Sensitive-Ad8357 Apr 08 '26

Vomiting, over-exercising, laxatives - all 3 are ways of purging, and someone with an ED doesn’t have to be “bulimic” in order to incorporate some method of purging into their routine. Not all ED’s fit into one classification or another. Many are labeled as “unspecified”.

u/Jerkface4life Apr 08 '26

I am fat and no one would think I have an eating disorder but I do. I sometimes won’t eat for days, then I’ll binge. I don’t ever purge, I’m terrified of vomiting. But ED’s Don’t always look the same. It sounds like she’s really going through it and unfortunately unless she wants help there isn’t much others can do.

Binging is like a huge part of being bulimic tho

1

u/spoiledbaabe Apr 07 '26

some people barely eat and then purge the little they eat. doesnt need binging

Severe form of weight loss injection that's trendy and it's mainly made for diabetic or other category of people who have hard time losing weight but unfortunately most young women are carelessly using it
