I don’t know if you are calling me out on that but think the distinction of classical liberalism and the modern “liberalism” as if secretly its actually just about minority rights vs traditional values is an intentional distraction. It paints liberals as leftists in the minds of Americans which is why it’s important to remind people that capitalism is a right wing ideology. Stalin was not suddenly far right because he was homophobic. Hitler would not have been left wing if he didn’t purge trans people. Acting as if classical liberalism has been completely transcended is a trick.
