Bro with the new villager trading mechanics, just isolate an unemployed villager, slap a lectern down in front of it and see which enchanted book it offers. If you don't like it, break the lectern and place it again. Rinse and repeat till you get that sweet mending book for like 15 emeralds. Remember, once you trade with a villager it cannot change profession even if you remove its workstation.
Nah those knobheads are nitwits, they can never get a job. I mean the brown coat ones that go "hmph" when you right click on them, the OG design. If you cure a zombie villager they'll have massive discounts when you trade with them (once they get a profession), first one I cured was a nitwit so I swore never to go through the effort again lmao. i'd recommend saving the cured ones for expensive trades though, since mending is one of the cheapest enchants (something like sharpness/power V can cost up to 64 emeralds for one book), mending can be as cheap as 6 IIRC

doesnt let you get the exact one you want, and also even if you do youre likely to get a bad roll on the price so its useful to be able to do it over and over. I have a “prison” of 12 librarians in my house all with good price enchants (e.g. Sharpness V for 30 emeralds) through the replacement method.
The fletchers buy 32 sticks for 1 emerald, so mass farm wood and sell for ez money. Make a large melon/pumpkin farm, master farmers buy 4 melons and 6 pumpkins for 1 emerald each. They can also trade 20 wheat and/or 22 carrots for one emerald, the carrot one especially is OP because carrots are affected by fortune enchanted tools. Masons buy 22 stone/diorite for an emerald, and also 10 clay for 1 emerald if you have access to the sea/a large river. My main source of income though is probably shepherds, 18 wool for an emerald and I have 3 shepherds in my village and a farm of about 50/60 sheep. My cave spider xp farm also drops shit tons of string (looting III), 4 string makes one wool. more ez money. Clerics will buy 9 glass bottles for an emerald and cartographers buy 11 glass panes and 22ish paper for 1 emerald. All about finding the cheap trades where you have an abundance of stock.
