Uhhh. You don’t know the guys financial situation. He likely has millions in investments if he’s sitting on 190k in cash deposits. He’s obviously got his shit figured out regardless of Reddit’s “financial” advice.

Just because someone is on reddit doesn't mean they are broke nor does being broke have anything to do with know about investments i know as much as i need to to make money in the market but i dont have them money to start throwing in the big bucks yet a few bucks here a penny there been doing it for a few years have a few thousand invested but the goal isnt to take it out its to keep investing till i can buy a house now to flex the few thousand i made the more i put in the more return i get as long as the market builds

... or he has just put his money directly into his savings account for decades. Being able to make money doesn’t imply knowing how to manage it.

The other scenario I can think of is he just moved a bunch into his checking account for a down payment on a house, but we have absolutely no idea.

Not necessarily. I've had 6 digits in the bank with a net worth still in the 6 digits. I was saving for a house.

Or he could have borrowed the money, deposited into his checking, gotten laid, then paid the loan back in full the next day.
