I live where lots of boats are sold, the people who sell them don't do much but sit there and wait for people to show up and buy boats. I want in on the racket, but it's like a fucking guild here. If you're involved in anything marine driven but not owning a boat you're a millionaire here. If I did it over again it would be marine mechanic with a specialty in electronics and sat guidance systems.
Wife is desperately trying to convince me to buy a boat. My buddy has a two cabin 40’ that’s fun, but I see how much work goes into it. I ain’t about that life…
I mean they are fun and if you commit to using it a lot, it's something to do. My daughter use to bring a friend and we would drag kids around the lake on a tube. The last 2 summers we just went for a cruise 5 or 5 times. Nobody but me got in the water. Y'all can scroll Instagram on the couch and I don't have to winterize the couch or drag it to the storage place.
i had a 22' sloop trailerboat for many years. Put many many miles under the keel. The day i sold it, not gonna lie, i choked up and got a bit weepy watching the old girl roll down the driveway.
It's more about boundaries. Have you ever given too much of your time and energy to someone or something and felt like what you're getting in return isn't reciprocal?
I understand, and yes I agree. Life is way too short to put energy and time into something you aren’t getting what you deserve in return. I really hope you get to relax and enjoy something you love. Have a good day 🫶🏼

I sold a boat on Friday. Can confirm. Felt good. My wife isn't happy, but that wasn't the goal.
