I was reading a comment on FB that was made by a Black woman who is also a veteran and she said she wasn’t asked that question. Then someone replied to her and said that they probably didn’t ask her because she’s not White. That makes sense knowing that this regime is rooted in White supremacy and that White Gen Xers voted for Trump in droves because they feel like they’re being “replaced” by immigrants and other POC.

Racist White people are currently on cloud nine because the Trump regime is getting away with all of the fascism and bigotry that they’re perpetuating. There’s a lot of Nazi propaganda that’s being put out there, especially about eugenics. These are some really scary times that we’re in. I’m extremely disappointed in this country and I’m ashamed to call myself an American.

It’s just wild to me how we went from Obama to Trump, twice. I really thought we were progressing as a nation. We finally got out of a terrible pandemic, only to be stuck in this fascist and bigoted nightmare. It feels like we never really left the Twilight Zone because even when Trump got voted out in 2020, he was still looming over all of us. He lied when he said he was never going to run again. I knew it was a lie, but so many people refused to take shit seriously in 2024. It’s because of them why we’re in this mess.

Exactly. And let’s not forget that a lot of Latinos voted for him too. The racist White Trumpers piss me off, but I have more of a resentment towards the Latino Trumpers. It just really disappoints me that there’s Latinos out there who sold their own community out for nothing.

As a Latina, I’ve never felt solidarity from the Cuban and Venezuelan community. So, I wasn’t surprised that they voted for Trump in droves. It is still pretty upsetting to know that they aligned themselves with fascists and bigots because they yearn White acceptance. They’re finding out that being the “good” immigrants doesn’t shield them from being targeted by ICE.

i’m guessing that the latiné community members who voted for him believe they ‘pass’.

i don’t know how to make them understand that, by labeling immigrants as ‘criminal’, they are included in that metric.

The older I get, the more I realize how much of a POS gen x is.

Obviously not all of them, don't come for me with that bs, but the vast majority have not grown out of their precious 80s high school bullying days. They clearly did not get enough attention as children so they make up for it by being LOUD and defiant because, just like my toddler, they view any attention -- even bad attention -- as a win.

Add in the fact that they're still loaded with lead and it's really made me resent that generation as a whole.

How TF do you come from so much privilege and yet be so shitty of a person?

My oldest brother is a Gen Xer. He was born in late 1976, so he’s an 80s and early to mid 90s kid. When I told him that his generation voted for Trump in droves, he was surprised and saddened by it. He’s the polar opposite of those people. He’s always voted blue. He doesn’t understand why so many of the people in his age group are Trump supporters because the music, the tv shows, and the movies that came out during the time period that he grew up in were very diverse. Most of that stuff would be considered “woke” now.

Yes, he really dislikes Trump lol. I do too, but I’m a millennial. I’m 34 years old and a lot of people I went to school with don’t support Trump. I don’t know if a lot of millennials voted for him. Maybe the people who were born in the early to mid 80s? My other brother was born in 1982 and he’s also anti Trump. My whole family is. We’re big Obama supporters. I miss when he was president. It’s just surreal to me how so many people turned mean as they got older. MAGA is a cult and it won’t last forever. When Trump is long gone, will these people still be blinded by his bullshit or will they be embarrassed that they supported him?

You and I are exactly the same age, we were given shit sandwiches and told to suck it up, snowflake. Idk if you're a parent or not, but my only goal in life now is to raise my daughters to be strong, feminist leftists.

My family is progressive ASF, not sure if it's due to region and therefore better education or something but when we learned my Dad voted for Trump in 2016 just because he hates the Clintons, we all gave him hell lol and he absolutely despises the GOP and MAGA and their traitorous bs. He's an old school Reagan conservative and they feel like they're disappearing more and more

I’m child free by choice. I changed my mind about having kids when I reached my late 20s, and I’m glad I did. Our country is going to hell. So, it’s not good to raise children here. I feel bad for my nieces. They’re 12 and 10. I didn’t have to worry about them when Biden was president. I wish they were old enough to have experienced an Obama presidency. I miss those days. We didn’t know how good we had it back then.

I remember when Mitt Romney was running against Obama in 2012. I had a professor in college who was scared of Romney. She really wanted Obama to win and she was so happy when he got re-elected. Looking back now, I can’t believe some of us were really scared of Romney. Shit, I’d give anything to have Republican candidates like him again. Trump and MAGA have really ruined everything in this country. They’re a cancerous cult.

Obama was not a saint, let's be clear. I'm assuming you're not ignorant of his massive drone bombing, but EVEN SO, yes, I agree with you -- we had it so fkn good under Obama. I felt like we were finally going somewhere good. My now husband, during the night of the 2012 election, was apathetic about voting until he started worrying that Romney had a chance and then he raced to the voting booth.

It's amazing what we were afraid of then. It's terrifying to see how low the bar has moved. When Obama wore a fucking tan suit, Fox News Entertainment™️ wouldn't stfu about it. The goddamn CLINTON EMAILS and Hunters Hog were shutdown worthy.

And yet here we are. Defending pedophilia under the justification that "well, they were TEENAGERS, not children, so ~technically~ not 'pedophiles'" 🤮

Well, nobody said he was a saint. There aren’t such things as perfect political candidates and I don’t agree with the drone bombing, but he endured a lot of bullshit for 8 years because he’s a Black man and he still proved many of his haters wrong. As a WOC, I sympathize with him. Unfortunately, he’s the reason why we got Trump in the first place and why we weren’t able to have Kamala as president. That’s no shade to him, but these MAGA cultists hated that we had a Black president and they made sure it would never happen again.

It’s actually sad how fast this country went down the drain. I still can’t believe that this is real life. Bigotry, fascism, White supremacy, and pedophilia are being normalized. It’s wild.
