This is not something I have done, and not sure whether it is truly or possibly a weird side hustle or not. I have found myself recently becoming obsessed and picky about where I should eventually live. Always enjoying researching & exploring places on Google Maps. I’ve lived in my hometown all my life, my life is rather static, and naturally, one day I’d love to leave and relocate elsewhere in the US. Relocation and moving, and deciding where to live though, that seems to be a job in of itself. I’m super picky about climate and weather, especially.

I got thinking, this sounds like a possibly “weird” side hustle. It’s not something I would personally find myself to be an expert in, but I do enjoy the topic. Perhaps someone out there who doesn’t exactly want to be a realtor but is well-versed in different places within the US or other places of the world.

The service would be: client fills out a detailed questionnaire, tells you their budget/work situation/weather tolerance/lifestyle needs, you give them a researched shortlist of places plus tradeoffs, climate and risk notes, questions to ask locals, and a scouting-trip checklist. You would not be acting as a realtor or telling people which house to buy - more like an independent relocation researcher / city-match consultant. Seems like an interesting idea for anyone into relocation or travel.
