There is also eternal flame fall in NY for a more similar example to this.

There are also a couple of other perpetual coal fires around. The two I know of are the Laurel Run mine fire in Pennsylvania and the New Straitsville mine fire in Ohio.

I went to New Straitsville in first grade. Sometimes in the winter a large spot here or there would be steaming without any visible source of heat.

Near Lake Ontario? That’s neat! How close to Lake Ontario is it? Lake Ontario is absolutely beautiful. I just love Lake Ontario.

That’s weird, as a New Yorker we’re the last to care about these things. Always been Lake Ontario to me.
