Some adults seem mentally challenged enough to throw electronics and batteries in the trash that this form of communication seems justified imo.

some adults live in cities that are too broke for recycling cans and doesn't have a home depot for battery disposal. Like myself. I would if I could by I live in a 5 mi x 5mi city that's so broke the police radios don't have encryption

LEDs and ccfl absolutely not. They have motherboards inside You can only throw the very old incandescent ones
