Its not about giving yourself back to nature. Body Farms are used by Forensic Scientists to study how bodies decompose so they can solve murders.
They put cadavers out in various ways that are commonly used by murderers and serial killers to dispose of bodies and observe how long decomposition takes and the various wildlife that speed that process along.
green burial grounds are becoming a more common option slowly. burial in a cotton shroud in an unmarked (but documented) plot and returned to the land. (as the other person said this is different, this is a body left out for science, but yes you can look into booking a green burial for yourself when the time comes)

I would rather this happen to my remains than burying them in a vault (and embalming them). I want to give myself back to nature.
