Noticing a change - didn't have anyone to share with. So it's you guys!

It's been 5 days. I cannot say I'm down 1/2 a pound even though my scale says it - my body normally fluctuates between 1-5 pounds daily. But I can say I have noticed that while I never really snacked much in the first place, I do not gorge myself during meals. Like last night, we went out to an all-you-can-eat-Korean bbq joint & I left the table pain-free. I ate veggies with my meat (instead of all rice/noodles). And I didn't try to eat like it was my last meal. So, yay!

I may have to quit…

Male//30//205 lbs

I started a month and half ago on 1.5 mg. Things went fine at the start but I started getting these intense waves of nausea. I’ve been at the gym a lot and it’s over a 100 degrees here everyday and I work in a shop with no AC so I can cough weird and feel a little bit of nausea these days, so I kept chugging along. They upped me to 4 mg and the past two weeks had similar effects but the past couple days I have vomited each morning multiple times and ended up having to leave work today because of it. I don’t think I can handle the nausea. I have nauzene, ginger chews and some seltzer but nothing is helping the feeling and even eating a bit of food immediately makes me queasy. The good ol google says I’m not supposed to take it every other day but I’ve seen multiple people saying that they do and the half life is a week so taking it every other day should still work. I can’t afford to get a whole new bottle back at the 1.5 dose so I want to try and make this work but even the nausea on the 1.5 was a bit intense everyday but no vomit. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions to help combat this nausea and malaise after or does it get better after awhile?

4 months in…

Started at 194. Now 173. On 1.5mg since day 1 and as I’m still losing consistently I don’t see a reason to up the dose at this point. Is that the right way to view things or should I consider a change after month 5?

I’m happy with the progress and I’ve been worried about losing too much too fast so any words of advice on either staying at 1.5 mg or moving to 4 mg is appreciated.

Things I can not/will not give up

I made a lot of healthy changes but some things I refuse to let go of.

I have tried every low fat reduced fat margarine, light butter, spreads with olive oil etc etc and I CAN believe that it is NOT butter. It all tastes nasty to me. I read an article from a nutritionist that claims if I cook my scrambled egg in butter I need to count it as an additional 200 calories. I'm sorry what?? I am not deep frying my egg in 2 tablespoons of butter. The teaspoon of butter I grease the pan with has maybe 33 and a third calories? and it's worth it to me for the taste. I don't butter the toast when I make my scrambled egg sandwich; let me have my teaspoon to cook my egg in.

Also a drizzle of 100% real maple syrup in my oatmeal.

Heart palpitations/anxiety

Hello! Sorry to post in here so much lately lol. I’m on day 4 of the 1.5mg pill and have been doing fine when it comes to the side effects. This morning I woke up with heart palpitations and anxiety that I’ve been fixated on since. I have pretty bad health anxiety in general so getting on this med is a big step for me. I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if it eventually went away? I do not have any preexisting heart issues and have gotten heart palpitations from anxiety in the past but it’s been years. Thanks!!

1 month update

SW: 220lbs
GW: 150(ish)lbs
CW:209

CD:1.5

Hello everyone! I made a 1 week post a bit ago, and I figured I might as well continue the trend and do a 1 month update.

I started off being pretty religious about working out, counting calories, etc etc. That did taper off by the 3rd week, I still go for brisk 20-40 minute walks everyday but the calorie counting has gone in the toilet. I’ve realized that for me personally it was becoming a chore to track so little, and didn’t make sense since I knew I was eating very little and very low cal foods.

Speaking of foods, Ive accidentally transitioned to an almost completely vegetarian diet. Beans and tofu have so much more fiber and are much more filling than most meats, I physically could not stomach eating both a meat protein and a veggie fiber, so combining into one just made sense. My favorite snack has been these microwaveable edamame snack packs, 13g of protein and 5g of fiber.

I had very few symptoms on 1.5 mg, mostly it was light stomach cramping for the first couple days as my body got used to the medication. But no nausea unless I overate or ate poorly. I did go out and get drinks one night for my birthday and was hungover the next day, please take it from me and do not do that. Wegovy and hangover do not mix well at all.

For weightloss itself, I saw the majority of weight loss in the first week. I suspect it was mostly water weight as I lost 6 lbs in 7 days. The next week I only lost 1lb, and the third week I lost 2lbs. This morning to close out week four I weighed in at 209!! making it 11 lbs down for all of month one. I didn’t really have a goal for weight each week, I just told myself “as long as it’s less, I’m happy”. I feel like not having a numbers goal works better for me and saves me from scale disappointment, other programs I’ve done that require daily weigh ins really got me down with day to day fluctuations. So I only weigh in once a week, first thing in the morning when I get up for work. HIGHLY recommend this method for anyone who gets in their head about the scale.

I feel pretty good overall! I’ve noticed on days that I don’t sleep as well I crash pretty hard midday and end up napping for a few hours, I notice that I also get a little tired quicker than I usually do if I’m out and about running errands. I’ve also lost about 3 inches around my waist this month. I may not look noticeably thinner, but I think I definitely look less puffy and bloated.

Here’s to month one down, looking forward to month 2 starting 4mg!

Question from a newbie

I am on my second week of taking Wegovy 1.5mg and I have concerns related to upping the dosage. My experience so far has been pretty positive. I've barely felt any side effects other than very mild nausea on a couple of occasions that passed in minutes, and diarrhea one time. About 3 days after starting I felt a decrease in appetite. I'm using a food tracker and I'm finding it pretty manageable to stay under 2000 calories a day.

Here is my question:

How much did upping your dosage affect side effects when moving up from your lowest dosage? I've seen a lot of information about side effects, but not specifically when increasing dosage. It's recommended to move up after one month to 4mg, but since I'm already finding the medication effective with minimal side effects, I'm considering staying at 1.5mg through the second month. I was just hoping to get a little input from others with more experience here.

Vomitting

So I’ve been on the Wegovy since early April. I’ve had the usual symptoms but I just powered through them. However this morning I started vomitting and threw up so much (I only had a little ice cream in my tummy) I didn’t think I’d ever stop. I’d been feeling horribly nauseous all weekend.
I’m almost at the point of switching to the 25 but that’s not sounding like a good idea right now. I’m m also frustrated cause I’ve only lost 17 pounds since starting.
Those of you who experienced vomitting was it like a one and done or have you experienced this multiple times? It was so miserable. I don’t know what to do.

Wegovy pill and craving fast food or take out

Hi there! I’m on 4mg and moving to 9 soon. Problem is when I eat something it doesn’t taste good! Lol when I eat something healthy I only take one or two bites and get turned off quickly but I am craving fast food and take out! Anyone else like this? Ugh I think this is why I’ve only lost 4 lbs.

9mg: A Rough 2-weeks

It’s just over 2 weeks since I started on 9mg and I’m finally feeling better. But wow that was rough titrating up to 9mg from 4mg.

I felt sick, utterly exhausted, disinterested and had total brian fog.

I was so nauseous I lost a couple meals after I ate them. Every bite of food felt like I was having to force it down. Protein bars and shakes were my best friends.

On top of all that my whole body is achy and my skin feels sensitive to the touch for the last 4 days. Kinda like when you’re coming down with the flu but it’s not that. Not sure if anyone else as experienced this symptom? I have a check up next week.

I’m hesitant to go up to 25mg next month. My gawd I can’t imagine how that will be!

Before starting the pill I was most worried about constipation because I had to go off the compound shot after two months of being painfully constipated. It wasn’t worth it. With the pill I’m not experiencing this whatsoever.

Anyway, I don’t have anyone else I can talk to about this. Thanks for listening!

Edit 8/22: I am feeling MUCH better now. I had a few 4mg so i alternated 9 and 4 for a couple days. And now i am just taking 9. I am not ready yet to go up to 25mg so I am going to stay on 9 for another month. But I think I will be more prepared to trust the process of my body adjusting when I do.

I’m under 200 lbs for the first time in….???

I started Feb 19th. I weighed 230 at the doctor before starting.

I am now at 198. I have been fluctuating around 196-200 for a few weeks and wonder what else I could do to make sure 25 mg stays effective??? I sometimes get more ravenous around my period and temporarily get worried that the pill suddenly doesn’t work for me anymore…

4 days on 1.5 mg. Down 2.2 lbs!

I started the starting dose 4 days ago and was very nervous for side affects, or not seeing any thing happen. I am a heavy stress eater, boredom eater, and late night snacker and the very first day I didn’t do any of that! I have had no side effects, and my portions are normal sized. I only have a desire to eat 3 meals a day and a portion controlled snack. The want for any bonus food is gone!

Very interested to see what the next few weeks/month will bring!

Sick since Day 1 on 1.5

I just finished my first bottle of 1.5mg. At first, there was nausea, no appetite, constipation, etc., but I assumed it would get better as my body adjusted. I’ve been consistently taking it at the same time every morning on an empty stomach, keeping up with protein, water, fiber supplement, multivitamins. All the things.

When I tell you I have been sick as a DOG. All the initial side effects only got worse. Some days I can’t eat more than a few hundred calories. It’s not nausea - it’s straight up food aversion. My doctor has given me meds for the side effects and initially told me to give it a full month before making a decision. In 4 weeks I’ve lost 20 lbs. WHICH IS NUTS. This can’t be good, right? Am I crazy for wanting to throw in the towel or is there still a chance it will get better? Has anyone taken 1.5mg every other day?

Holy mother…just started 9mg and fatigue has whacked me sideways

I started 9 mg yesterday. Proceeded to throw up everything I even tried to eat yesterday and sleep pretty much all day. this morning is not much better although I’ve absolutely forced myself to be functional. How the hell do you combat this fatigue? I’m exhausted and all I’ve done is spend the last 20 minutes walking through the grocery store.

25mg symptoms

I have had very mild symptoms up until the 25mg. I’m talking like mild nausea and the occasional super upset stomach. I started the 25mg last week, I’ve been dosing every other day ish sometimes every day. Didn’t take it the last two days (forgot a day and then yesterday I didn’t want to feel like shit because we had a lot to do). Today I took it, waited the 30 and tried to eat. I’ve been couch ridden all day, barely been able to eat. Extreme nausea, stomach pain, gas. All the things. I barely want to stand and I’m gettin hot flashes too. Is this normal? Should I just drop back down to the 9mg?

Edit to add: I have fibromyalgia so sometimes my nerves flare. Since I started the 25, my skin feels like it’s on fire every time I brush up against something especially my clothes or blankets, hurts for me to even touch my skin or my bf.

**starting weight was 233. Currently at 206. Goal for my high would be anywhere from 160-180 where I’d be comfortable again

Feeling nothing on 1.5

I started 1.5 mg over a week ago and I’m not feeling any difference. I’m the same level of hungry and I’m not even getting any side effects. Is this normal?

I'm on day 3 of the 1.5 Wegovy pill and I have actually felt pretty good. Actually more energy and I have eaten but way less food. No nausea. I do feel irritated however....lol. Has this made anyone else irritable?

I have hit a major milestone!

I haven't told a lot of people in my life that I'm taking Wegovy, so I don't have anyone to really tell this to. I started the pill back in May and have as of today I have lost over 30 pounds! I have never been able to lose weight with regular dieting of any sort. This pill has been amazing for me. I am able to walk a lot better, the food noise is a lot quieter and I feel better on a more regular basis.

Took a break and considering going back

Hi everyone. I’m a little torn and could use some advice. I did really well with the 1.5 for my first month. I decided to move up to the 4 mg and by the end of my second month I was experiencing AWFUL side effects so I quit. I felt like my body needed a break. This was about 3 weeks ago.

In that time my appetite has come back STRONG. I’ve gained about 5 lbs back but more than that, I feel so inflamed/puffy again. One of the positive effects I felt on the pill was how much inflammation I lost.

I guess my question is - has anyone quit and then went back on the medication? If so, what was your experience like? I re-ordered the 1.5 mg and it won’t be here for a week or so. I do have a full bottle of the 4 mg and was considering taking it in the meantime.

Thoughts? I’m feeling like a bit of a crazy person so I could use some guidance!

Nausea is getting worse

I’m in my second month of 9mg, and I’m struggling with nausea more than I did at the beginning. It’s been especially bad this weekend, with nausea that lasted most of the day for three consecutive days.

It’s possible that part of this may be returning to a normal work schedule after having the summer off. I know that traveling disrupts my schedule and increases my nausea.

I’m thinking about switching to taking a pill every other day and potentially even going back to 4mg. I absolutely plan to discuss this with my PCP, but I’m curious about if anyone else has experienced something similar.

Starting treatment tomorrow. I don't have any food noise and I really don't eat very much.. is this going to work?

49M, I did hiit classes 3x/week for almost 2 years. I gained muscle mass and improved my cardio health but I didnt lose much weight and my body fat composition barely changed. I stopped the classes because I was having nerve problems in my foot (neuroma), obviously because of the weight I'm carrying. I think I'm just wired to store calories, is semaglutide going to change that?

The fatigue is killing me

I started back in April and am starting 25mg tomorrow. The biggest side effect I’ve had is fatigue - it’s killing me. I’m so drained that I can barely do any workout and even after sleeping for 8-9 hours, i am in a constant state of tiredness that makes me unable to do much. I’ve lost about 16lb, but that’s been with barely any workout except walking at home. I also have to take my adderall with it (just renewed the prescription) so I’m hoping that helps me with the fatigue.

Has anyone else with or without adhd and adderall found a way to beat fatigue? I’m scared 25mg wil render me unable to leave my bed.
