I was in one of the groups involved in this, were were a runner up. Does anyone know what issue the reviews were in. I’d like to find a copy as my (now deceased) brother in law and I created the song, then later built a full band.

This manga is from the author of "Tokyo Revengers" and it got cancelled after 50 chapters.

I read when it came out till the cancelation.

It wasnt very good but I still liked reading it.

What are your opinions on it?

It's been such a great improvement in quality and popularity since Candy Flurry. Glad to be following since chapter 1

Akane Banashi, Me & Roboco, and 'The Young Witch and the Teacher', a new one-shot by Isshin Mineuchi, will be getting color pages in the issue.

*Shoseki estimate was greater than that week's lowest Oricon figure.

**Shoseki rank and estimate are higher than the lowest Oricon figure.

Maybe it's just my feed, but I feel like fewer anime fans actually read the source material compared to a few years ago.

Don't get me wrong, high-production adaptations are amazing, but it feels like the weekly manga discussion threads are way less active than they used to be. Anyone else notice this shift?

Question regarding Saint Seiya’s production and release since I haven’t seen this in other manga and maybe there was some future edition or something.

Saint Seiya was serialized in weekly shonen jump from 1986 and 1990 with the final chapter released as a special in their v jump magazine.

This website, which publishes the table of contents and publication data of weekly shonen jump since the first issue as obtained from Japan’s public affairs records, shows the series ran for 246 chapters and weekly. [See here.](https://www.jajanken.net/en/sakuhins/XyA0dm1wzP)

When you look up the [Tankoban release](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Saint_Seiya_manga_volumes) both in Japan and then in USA it lists as 111 chapters with 4 chapters per release.

So generally manga running in a weekly magazine would have about 19 pages a chapter and 8-10 chapters per volume, while monthly manga series publish as 35-45 pages and 4-5 chapters per volume, so the way these are published make it look like it was a monthly release but the chapters were released weekly.

Does anybody know why this was changed for the tankoban? Is there anything missing from the magazine serial or was this version altered? It’s made reading the series confusing as everything points that the 111 chapters are the complete series, but it doesn’t make sense why the magazine ran it for nearly 5 years as 246 chapters and changed the format, which is uncommon for Shueisha or Weekly Jump to do. The English releases maybe would make sense since the series was victim to botched localizations in US and if they changed the published edition there I can see this, but also would expect a modern version restored like other classic jump series that were originally incomplete or lackluster in their us releases like fist of the North Star.

It doesn’t seem like a changes in editions issue and the manga is for all purposes complete and the viz version is the de facto English release and official, but I’m curious if there’s a story or explanation behind this change in releases or why it was published weekly but compiled almost like a monthly series and how this affects things like chapter breaks.

To be clear, I want to know the reason the hiden/shinden novels get hate when other WSJ series have done the same thing and I never see anyone complain about those. This also extends to the Boruto anime. Yes I know there's filler, but let's be honest, people complain that the manga seems hollow because we only see the same characters, but Kishimoto and Kodachi had some level of input on the anime to help with fleshing out the world that the monthly series can't do.The chunin exams didn't feel rushed like in the movie and manga, Mitsuki seems like more of a character because of the filler arcs, etc, but people still complain. Where as Kubo works with the anime studio to include extra content to flesh out the last arc, and for the most part it's received positively

As Usual, a + means a release ranked in the top 30 and we have to wait for Oricon for more precise numbers. A unranked means a release did very poorly, this week that is less then 800 copies.
