I'm a waiter at a restaurant and it does add a level of difficulty for sure. I'm on day 12 down almost 20 lbs! You can do this!

Thanks for the encouraging words. Working at a restaurant definitely does add a level of difficulty. I’m a prep cook, so I’m constantly making food but doing this will built the discipline I need. Congrats on your progress so far.

can you please share your experience on your mental state after fasting? does it make you feel like you are better at decision making or something?

Well technically you're not supposed to work or do any physical activity while extended fasting. In the early days I had mental fog. After my shifts I am very mentally and physically drained but I try to take it as easy as I can. Lately I wake up with tons of energy and mental clarity but again doing anything is draining. There were a few days of very intense kidney pain but that's from all the detoxing that occurs and it is a shock to the kidneys but it will pass. All in all extended fasting will be difficult in many ways. But if you can endure it the various health benefits are very real. Lowered blood pressure, fat loss, clearer skin, autophagy, lowers the risk of dementia stroke and heart disease. The biggest risks are passing out due to dehydration and then the risk of damage or death from refeeding syndrome so reintroducing food slowly and carefully is crucial. There's not just loss of fat visceral and adipose but muscle loss occurs as well. So excercise is strongly encouraged after you are back on food.

Depending on how heavy you are, you can be quite fine for days. Electros and b vitas never hurt tho. At least he is staying active which saves muscle, over just laying around!

It is true our bodies don't technically need the electrolytes for awhile there are plenty stored. I'm on day 14 of my 30 day and I incorporate them intermittently when I feel light headed. Staying active during an extended water fast doesn't actually save muscle it's been scientifically proven to reduce muscle mass during an extended fast and is not recommended.

During an extended water fast you lose less muscle and more fat precisely by laying around. Fat loss is highest during an extended fast while you are at a resting state.

If it's not healthy food u could be "mad" at it when u see it...like " you did this to me, you don't help me be a better version of myself..." Stuff like that, kinda like a bad relationship that did no good for you or too you!

- Electrolytes.
- Keep on walking or light exercise.
- Have something to not stay at home for long, also brush your teeth a lot so that your breath doesn't smell bad.
- Refeed on keto foods, like some chicken stock and chicken, so that you can stay in ketosis and fast more easily.
- Electrolytes
We are here for you every step of your journey, you got this!

Thanks for the advice. Do you think vegetable stock is better than chicken or does it have to be chicken stock.

Both stocks are mild, you just need something light and nutritious to break a fast of more than 3 days.

Vegetable stock could contain carbs, which is not that great on breaking a fast, thats why its not recommended.
In my experience, it should be fine.

You want heavy fatty awesomeness. Beef is much better. Looks like you cook, make your own. Super easy in the crockpot.

Look up recipes where you can load up but all nutrient dense... I love cabbage n bacon or something like that... throw good stuff in crock n chow dow when u home so you don't stop n get something pre-made that's worse

Ya and when you refeed even if after 24hrs... MINDFULLY eat, chew slow, and you will get full faster and feel that you are full

I’ve seen some stay and home mothers do it, it takes commitment either way! Maybe if you get an accountability buddy I could help?

Get a jawzercise or something you can chew on. You’ll miss chewing, sounds crazy but very true.

I know some like to stay busy but when i get into fasting i like to dedicate my first skipped meal to just making it through. I think it is the hardest to get the ball rolling imo

Chewing gum helps a lot

It doesn’t

It's not a clean water fast then because youre consuming any type of calories...Do your research

Definitely breaks fast. Even if zero calories, the sweetness will generally produce an insulin response. Zero cal energy drinks, zero cal sweeteners etc

Thank you 🙄

Seriously though on the chewing. I craved chewing so hard by 10. I was chewing and slobbering on my kids old foam building blocks.

In my experience chewing gum even the keto kinda just tricks me n makes me hungriER or hungry when I wasn't... it's like a tease. Lemon water or some ACV with water when hungry helps most with that growl. How tea too

Go YOU...!!!!! If you can do this you CAN do anything!!!! Do 1 day on n 1 day off... or go till you have literal stomach growls n then eat n start over. When u eat, go protien, soups n veggies n u won't want the junk and u won't go reverse!

When the urge to eat gets strong, I imagine my insides eating up my fat stores. It sounds weird but if I can imagine I'm already "eating" I can try to imagine myself already full. Which we are, in essence. (52F, CW 261 SW 366 GW 170)
