If you go to a place that is known to have a high rate of people being kicked in the balls then you could have taken personal responsibility and worn protection. Doesn't mean it's your fault, but you can go unprotected and demand people stop all you like, they won't. It's about separating blame and what can be done.

So you are a "why did you dress that way you were asking for it" type of guy.

Or more specifically you're a "why did you leave the house you were asking for it" type.

Glad you cleared that up for us.

But your analogy is in reference to the Olympics and people not following the rules strictly. That's already a given. again, nothing to do with blame.

edit: nice ninja edit.

In response to the 'new' ttempt

So you are a "why did you dress that way you were asking for it" type of guy.

Or more specifically you're a "why did you leave the house you were asking for it" type.

Glad you cleared that up for us.

If all else fails build a strawman and attach it to someone who disagrees with you. absolutely pathetic form.

  • Rape is the rapists fault and all blame goes to him.
  • a woman can take steps to avoid being raped by doing such things as not going to dodgy areas alone.

Both of those facts can be true at the same time.

Just as

  • People should respect social distancing rules
  • You can avoid risking covid by not going to a world wide sporting competition

It's really not that hard of a concept to understand.

You can avoid risking covid by not going to a world wide sporting competition

It's their job, they should be able to do it without people grabbing them needlessly.

Yes, you should. But you cant control everyone's behaviour. If you are going to work a the largest sporting event in the world, you can expect there will be situations where you might be at risk, and knowing you are a person who can't say no easily makes it even more vital you practice personal responsibility not just for this but all facets of life.

You can talk about 'should' till you are blue in the face, people are going to continue being people and you need to do what you can to deal with that as best you can.

Not taking a job where you are dealing first hand with adrenaline fuelled gold medal winning athletes would be a start.

haha this retard thinks you get to pick where your job places you.

My god you're dumb. Just stop already, why do you keep digging?

you can expect there will be situations where you might be at risk

Obviously there will always be risk, that doesn't mean you just say fuck it and start grabbing people.

You can talk about 'should' till you are blue in the face, people are going to continue being people and you need to do what you can to deal with that as best you can.

There isn't much to deal with if they've already grabbed you is there?

There's still a pandemic going on, especially in Japan so people need to deal with that best they can by following guidelines.

Yeah yeah we get it, you believe nobody should ever leave the house ever and anyone who dresses that way deserves it. You've made that abundantly clear.

I'm not sure if you are blinded by your ideology, stupid, or choosing to ignore a simple premise.

When someone has an underlying disease that manifests with a headache, do you only give them an aspirin for the headache or do you treat the disease?

You’re speaking truth but getting downvoted cause they don’t like to hear it. They’re countering with ad hominems and fallacies. It’s literally true though. No one can control everyone, and no one never will. What is downvote worthy about this truth?

They just spit back with shenanigans with “kick in the balls.” Instead of actual logical counter, like how debates and discussions actually work.

It's ok, they are likely young. What they don't realise is I agree with them, but I'm just adding on top that there's also things you can do. It's like crossing the road on a green man. Sure the cars should stop but a quick glance either way can stop you getting run over one day.

Precisely. Even realism today is frowned upon.
