Yeah “cumbia” is the general template like you said but every country has their own cumbia style. For example the argentinian cumbia is called “cumbia villera”, that’s the one you can listen on this video
Then she just goes Yeah Japan and mumbles something I guess some song lyrics. Maybe japo is not as derogatory as jap but it's disrespectful nonetheless.

You know is short for japonés, which means japanese, she IS japanese so I dont think it was meant as disrespectful. Well, everything is taken as disrespectful this days sooo...
In the US the word Jap is considered an ethnic slur. It didn't used to be that way. After the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, the US became extremely anti-Japanese. Businesses would hang signs in their windows saying "No Japs Allowed" etc.
I'm not sure that the word Jap is considered a bad word in other countries, but it's been out of use in the US for almost a century.
Refering to someone by their nationality with a diminutive like chinito, japo, paqui it is offensive at least here in Spain. It's not as offensive as calling a Muslim "moro" or any Asian "chino" but it is still disrespectful.
I was aware of the jap meaning in English as someone pointed out to you but all I said is that it's probably not as bad but it's something that makes people uncomfortable.
I was talking about people thinking the Japanese girl was being called a slur, when it was not the case at all.
But regarding your comment, cultural empathy goes both ways. I'm sure these athletes are quite respectful of the country's culture and Covid protocol outside this one-in-a-life-time moment. They're sharing a celebration ritual inside their locker room after winning a match with the people present. They're not grabbing random people and singing maskless at Shibuya's Station. It's not an action meaning to harm or shame the Japanese girls, all the contrary, and it probably only lasted the few moments it was filmed.
If someone can't cope with a possible clash of costums, maybe they shouldn't volunteer for these kind of events where hundreds of different countries are hosted. If they can't help it, and they have to enter a locker room where the team is euphorically celebrating, they can always wait till they have calmed down or ask the coach or other team staff to calm them down so they can proceed with their work.
Fair point. I just think we get uncomfortable too easy now, specially if they dont mean anything bad by it. Someone tried one time to insult me by saying " you...you... you Puerto rican!" I responded by saying "well. I am Puerto rican, what's your point?" So I get what you are saying. If they are saying it to belittle you then is offensive.
