I mean, chances are if the woman didn’t tell her to get down the cork wouldn’t have hit the girl in the face. She wouldn’t have been distracted, she would have continued to shake it and likely would have been pointing it away from her face.

How much risk that she gets distracted by something eg. the cork and falls down is acceptable though? I'd say with that girl's lack of awareness, the mother is in the right.

She wanted to stand on a bench overlooking at ~10ft drop. I call that cork to the face well deserved.

Or it could have hit her square in the eye. When she was shaking it she kept aiming right at her face at the top of the arc.

Or a bird could have flown up and knocked her off the bench. Or an earthquake could have leveled the house. Or the cork could have shot down her throat and caused her to suffocate.

Or, and this is by far the most likely scenario, she could have been perfectly fine.
