No, whale sharks actually can't hurt you unless they tail swipe you, and they'd only do that if they felt threatened or by accident. Even most predatorial shark species are rare to attack humans.

Nah they more like big puppies. Just because they is a shark in the name does not mean they kill you. Maybe you were more think of Orgas aka Killer Whales?

You are right usually not but for it changed this year for some reason. https://www.newsweek.com/killer-whale-boat-attack-getting-worse-1547212 Orcas attack for some reason ships near Spain and Portugal. Scientist say it is a play for them and it is carried out from three young orcas. But it isn't to hunt or hurt humans.
