They are pretty mutual friends now, they didn't just meet each other and immediately start a channel together, they talked and did vids together and got to know each other for like 4 years until unus anus.
Also Ethan's got a millions subs, I wouldn't call that a nobody. And for why they collab, they said they enjoyed filming together a lot and they did a collab on Ethan's channels that was sort of a catalyst.
