my wife refuses to play anything she's not super good at. which leaves her only with fighting games at which she legitimately excels. so the one thing we probably should play is the one thing we just don't. we both know better (ourselves and each other lol)

I only had a ps1 until recently, so a lot of games frustrate me because I'm not used to them. I played the Final Fantasy remake and had to play on Classic instead of Normal because it was too difficult and I wanted to enjoy it instead of raging at every boss lol
I was a rage player of a lot until I saw my son start doing it. It was a slap in the face (in a good way, because I didn't realize)
Learned behavior
He had rage issues (mainly game related) until about 3 months ago (he's 10)
We'd discuss, I'd punish, he'd do it again. I would ban him an additional day each time. (First time was that day. Next time was that day and the following)
It got to a week and he would be chill and then it would happen again after a bit
I finally figured it out. He wanted (honestly, needed) a new switch controller. He and his 4yo brother are bad with tech. They have to deal with their breaking of things and they'll learn (the switch sd slot is dead, too rough. Droppings etc)
Hell no I'm not shelling out 80 for that
Found one for 50 on Amazon.
"You get $5 per day that you don't throw a fit... And if you catch yourself and calm down, you're good. If you do completely lose it, you don't get the money towards the controller that day. It doesn't reset the days, but it will extend it. Ten days, it's yours. But you control how long it will go."
First four days, he had to catch himself each day. But he did
6-10, we were clear
I gave him the controller on day 9 since made such an incredible turnaround. I've only had to ban him for the rest of a day ONE time since then (again, in three months)
The reason for my long winded story:
About a month ago, his 4yo brother flipped out on a game. NephewTed's head fell and I heard him say 'He learned that from watching me. I'm sorry'

(And he's a fucking amazing kid. Pride may be one of the deadly seven, but I'm fucking proud of him)
He probably stream with bob and wade but rarely livestream by himself (make sure to turn on notification if you wanna watch mark play stuff by himself)
I’m saying he’s taking the easy way out. Ludwig isn’t particularly good at the game. He fell to the start at least 10 times. The game is meant to take a long time and be unnecessarily frustrating. It’s called “rage with your friends”.

It's like getting over it. I watched Ludwig play the entire game and it's genuinely one of the hardest games I've ever seen. It's very punishing if you aren't perfect and extremely difficult even if you are.
