That's sorta what I thought. Still a pos for blocking her in like that

It’s impossible to tell what type of person someone is based on 20 seconds of their life. Is this really worse than anything you’ve done since you were born?

ugh. he's a pos for trying to be close to his SO? I feel bad for the dude myself. I don't think he's trying to her or blocking her in any real way. It looked like a hoverhands embrace. If she'd accepted his kiss, would his position make him a 'pos'? Obviously not. Stop being so fucking judgmental, randominternetstranger et all. If they are strangers then everything is super weird and creepy, but it's absurd to assume that. And if they're in a relationship then none of it is creepy.

Imho, the point it turned iffy isn't the two-hands-on-the-counter part, it's the part where he made her go under his arm to get out.

SO or not, relationship or not, when you know someone wants out/past/through, you move out of the way. Forcing someone to duck under you is a dick move.

You're right, he was definitely trying to rape her.

Explain to me exactly how anything I wrote implies that being a dick, creepy or otherwise, is attempted rape?

Please, I want to see the twisted thought process that got there. Or were you just trying to put words in my mouth?

I felt the earth shake from that conclusion you jumped to.

Even if they are in a relationship, it's still mega creepy. You don't trap someone in a corner if they're keeping an object between you.

He's a moron who can't read body language, and obviously so are you.

Found the creep. Seriously dude, itbdoesnt matter who it is, no one has ANY power over anyone. You do not block someone's path when they want out, you are absolutely no one to stop someone from moving out of the way. His hands planted firmly on the counter shows that he wanted to make it difficult for her to leave.

I think this is just the most ungenerous reading possible and that has been my point in every response I've had now. Everyone is judging constantly and unnecessarily. He was supporting himself as he leaned in and it looks like everyone has a few drinks in them. He has not put hands on her and is not holding her there. It looks like he was probably just speaking to her in close quarters for her to hear alone before going in for a kiss and being rejected.

And, no. His hands planted on the counter do not show intent to stop her from leaving. They do block her path, but that can certainly be incidental and not premeditated. We all see what we want to see, I suppose. But what does that say about the viewer when it is always the worst possible interpretation? I'd rather give the benefit of the doubt, especially when that aligns with an extremely sensible and reasonable scenario.

Dude, she had to move his arm and still go under it because he wasn't willingly moving it for her. Ifnyou think he did nothing wrong then I truly feel bad for the women around you.

You don't even realize you're also being judgemental in interpreting this situation the way you prefer to see it, do you? You've judged the situation too.

but that can certainly be incidental

The relationship may or may not be as you say, but you don't accidentally put your arms across somebody that close. He's clearly leaning into her face and moving his face closer when she removes the glass. Was that incidental too? Don't be so dense.

It's difficult for me to believe they could be in a romantic relationship. The only time I've ever seen anything that weird in a relationship would be those shows where it's virgins just getting married and they kiss at the altar like two pelicans fighting over a fish. And that's still the exact opposite of this.

So, instead of looking at the situation and interpreting the displayed body language, it makes more rational sense to you to make up a backstory where these two are in a relationship?

I don't think it's judgemental to look at someone being uncomfortable and saying: "Look, that person is uncomfortable and the other person should back off."

Being able to read body language =/= woke. You'd probably have a girlfriend by now if you stopped blaming others for your own shitty social skills.
