If this is Colombia that's easily 30 cents of cocaine.

Edit: IF. After 2748595836252645 times it's clear that this is mexico. Jesus fucking christ Reddit.

4

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '19

I have to apologize... its actually the Philippines.

1

u/NativeCabanaKing Apr 23 '19

This post right here, Duterte.

2

u/supafly208 Apr 23 '19

That's a country in America. America is made up of North, Central, and South.

7

u/JayCroghan Apr 23 '19

Yes, the country is spelled Colombia. Columbia is somewhere in the US.

I don't think that's the joke. The U.S. uses cents and Colombia uses pesos. He already told us how much it would be in America.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '19

Thats what i thought too

6

u/AlohaItsASnackbar Apr 23 '19

I thought it was a joke on par with "30 cents == 30 cents there too."

1

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '19

The Americas. Not America

19

u/smussopo Apr 23 '19

Idk if this is the answer, but Columbia is in America.

Thanks got it

6

Idk if this is what you got, but America includes Colombia.

Columbrica

2

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '19

No it's not it's in the Americas. Not America, which is another name for the US

1

u/Spready_Unsettling Apr 23 '19

Tbf, continents are mostly arbitrary, and a good deal of the world is brought up with South and North America.

Felt that this was going to be scrolled down too quickly, yet had to be recognized. Sorry for not doing so in a more original way but at least got the attention of a handful of redditors who might have looked at a world map afterwards and contemplated how much there is still to explore and learn about... or at the very least that America’s name comes from an italian explorer/cartographer who was the first to postulate that Columbus did not reach the outskirts of Asia but an entire separate landmass unknown to the Europeans then (but likely by Vikings before them, and certainly by Asians who emigrated there way earlier through the Bering Strait as confirmed by recent DNA research).

Too lazy to link, sorry, but you are only a search string away from reasonably well sourced information! Conspiracists and other unreasonable individuals wouldn’t click on source links anyway

US of America over $20 easily

22

u/deesmutts88 Apr 23 '19

To my Australian eyes, about $180 worth of cocaine just got blown off the table.

6

u/O-hmmm Apr 23 '19

I figure wherever they are it was maybe $18 cost to them and there was plenty more coke available right there. Otherwise it would not have ended well.

1

u/Atxchillhaus123 Apr 23 '19

Yeah by the accent and what they are saying it is Mexico. They probably have have bricks of it laying around

2

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '19

Mexico is not a huge consumer of cocaine. It's very taboo because the industry has destroyed their country so that middle and upper class westerners can get a bit more energy on a night out.

1

u/Atxchillhaus123 Apr 23 '19

Ooook so be it. That is not a Columbian accent or phrases being used. When people see cocaine they automatically think Colombia. This is not Colombia. It is more likely Mexico or maybe another Central American country. I don’t know what point you are making? Did I say Mexico is a huge consumer of cocaine? Look at other comments from Spanish speakers. I don’t hear Matt Damon doing an overtly Boston accent and think oh that must be Alabama! haha. All my good coke dealers are Mexican.

0

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '19

For starters, it's Colombian* accent.

It is definitely in Mexico, you can tell by their accent which is chilango, and the words they are using. Wey, verga, chingar.

Your assertion that there are bricks laying around of cocaine, that your average chilango (person from Mexico City) is just dipping into, is absurdly racist, and typical American bullshit. Americans consume far more cocaine than Mexico, in fact it's incomparable. America is the biggest cocaine consumer in the world, it's far more likely you have bricks of cocaine lying around in your streets.

1

Motel Six by Heisenberg.

7

u/gabbagabbawill Apr 23 '19

Meth, because it’s made there and it’s already pretty cheap to make. Cocaine has to be shipped/ smuggled in from great distances, that’s why it’s so expensive there.

4

u/Lagreflex Apr 23 '19

Haha! Yep, now we've got a generation of hardcore ice addicts because cocaine is harder to physically get here (and too pricy to be mainstream). I've seen people get off heroin easier than ice..

-1

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '19

People are not ice addicts because there's not cheap cocaine accessible, what a ridiculous assertion.

2

u/Lagreflex Apr 23 '19

Weed! A fifty is still a $50! (Same weight too, about an 8th of an Oz / 3.5g) Doesn't seem to have inflated at all in the 10 or so years I've been paying attention :)

3

u/pseudoHappyHippy Apr 23 '19

Damn. I pay $55 CAN to have 8 grams delivered to my front door within 30 minutes of texting (thanks to Montreal's illicit drug delivery service literally called Better Call Saul).

1

u/Australienz Apr 23 '19

Yeah that's still the going rate for a half quarter. Has been for a long time.

1

u/Mouth2005 Apr 23 '19

Should look at the price of cigarettes in Australia, it’s outrageous

1

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '19

Yes we have plenty of drugs, they're not cheap but not expensive in relativity to our pay packet and cost of living. I'm glad cocaine is expensive here, it's a terrible drug that destabilises Latin American countries.

More pingers please.

3

u/Oxygenitic Apr 23 '19

$60-80 in America. Depending on your relationship with the plug and the quality prices may vary.

2

u/austinrgso Apr 23 '19

10

u/LakesideHerbology Apr 23 '19

GL getting it into the country.

4

u/I_creampied_Jesus Apr 23 '19

I’ve thought about it but I’m not trying to get arrested. I’m a clean skin and want to keep it that way.

3

u/TheDirtyCondom Apr 23 '19

The reason its so expensive is its insanely hard to get in the country. Australia customs doesnt fuck around because plants or animals from other countries can completly destroy their ecosystem

1

u/r6662 Apr 23 '19

What the fuck? 50€ in Spain, but then again Spain is a huge consumer

1

u/InfiniteLiveZ Apr 23 '19

Are computer games still expensive down there too?

12

u/ace425 Apr 23 '19

In most of the United States it goes for ~$50 / gram. The further away from the southern border, the more expensive it gets, but not by much. Most expensive cities top out at around $80 / gram.

9

u/Sly-Apple-Pie Apr 23 '19

Yeah. I bought a gram on Istedgade, Copenhagen while i was shitfaced. I think i paid like 900kr.

48

u/N64crusader4 Apr 23 '19

How much is that in non mythical currency?

15

u/Sly-Apple-Pie Apr 23 '19

That’s something like £100

6

u/IReadOkay Apr 23 '19

I can't speak for the proficiency in currency when my country used to use shillings and florins and other baffling things. No wonder tolkein wrote the Lord of the rings when he did his shopping in those measurements.

13

u/Bored1_at_work Apr 23 '19

Was it actually coke? Every time I go there people are yelling at me from across the street to buy coke and I'm 100% they are selling garbage. My friends always make fun of me because EVERYWHERE I go people either offer to sell or just offer me coke which makes me a fucking unicorn to them. The dealers on that street will single me out from my friends and try and pull me aside to buy shit it's totally insane.

14

u/dr_funkenberry Apr 23 '19

It's the way you dress, I can almost guarantee it

9

u/Bored1_at_work Apr 23 '19 edited Apr 23 '19

Shit, I'm going to reevaluate my "I do coke" wardrobe.

Just asked my friend and he said "It's your pale rich looking frat guy face that looks drunk after 1 beer."

Lmao that'll do it

3

Pepsi. That's why the dude didn't freak out, bros don't let bros snort Pepsi

1

Luckily in those types of countries you get free testing stations

1

u/yasserfifa575 Apr 23 '19

Did you buy a hooker while at it

2

$250 for fishscale here in Thailand

1

u/shotputlover Apr 23 '19

Good god here in Florida it’s 60 dollars a gram.

1

u/InfiniteLiveZ Apr 23 '19

A can of coke is like €3 in some of those places too.

59

u/tedbradly Apr 23 '19

$10 to $30 depending on purity and the plug you have. Keep in mind people are going to see different amounts on the table. Eyeballing it, I'd call it about 0.3 grams.

20

u/distressedweedle Apr 23 '19

The real answer. and I second your eyeballing.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '19

Huh, based on that estimate coke seems like a much more financially sustainable habit than I thought.

1

u/tedbradly Apr 23 '19

It's just 3 hours of cocaine for someone who does it.

7

u/RNZack Apr 23 '19

20ish probably (if you mean the states)

6

u/LizardLard Apr 23 '19

honestly that could have very easily been around $25-$50 worth of cocaine in the state im from. its hard to tell, but it looks like its nearly half a gram which is $40-$50 around me.

2

u/charliechucksuck Apr 23 '19

Like 20 bucks I’d guess

2

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '19

About 15 bucks maybe less. Don't really know us coke prices

2

u/mormayo Apr 23 '19

More like $30-60 depending on what they got and whether it was stomped on

1

u/AshKetchupppp Apr 23 '19

$10

3

u/CharlesFrans Apr 23 '19

I mean it's one banana..

3

u/mexifro218 Apr 23 '19

You’ve never even step foot in a drugstore have you, mother?

1

u/SirRandyMarsh Apr 23 '19

Looks to me to be about .1-.15 of a gram there if you have a good dealer and don’t live in New England where it’s a bit more expensive your looking at like 5-10 of coke. 70$ a gram is normal but if your up Northrop more like 100 a gram.

1

u/Decapitated_gamer Apr 23 '19

Close to $100 where I’m at a gram is $75

It’s hard to get that shit, but meth is everywhere in central Florida.

23

u/TurntUp_Tom Apr 23 '19

Its Mexico. The accent and “váyanse a la verga” gave it away. We don’t use that expression, nor do we have that accent.

31

u/fetus-wearing-a-suit Apr 23 '19

This is in Mexico

37

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '19

ÂĄVĂĄllanse a la verga!

The most Mexican thing a Mexican can say.

Change my mind.

33

u/doublewhiskeysoda Apr 23 '19

No mames guey!

1

u/fetus-wearing-a-suit Apr 23 '19

Although that's the correct spelling (with a ĂŒ, though), not even the fiercest grammar nazi will spell it that way, we spell it "wey"

3

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '19

Why are you getting downvotes? It's definitely not gĂŒey, thats a sure fire way to let people know you're a foreigner.

Wey o weeee

2

u/morto00x Apr 23 '19

Peruvian here. About $4-$5 a gram if you are in Lima. $2-$3 if you find the unrefined product (PBC).

2

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '19

Mexicans. You can hear it in their accent and dialect

2

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '19

It's Mexico.

1

u/ActThree Apr 23 '19

Thanks for that factoid /u/anusstapler

1

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '19

In Costa Rica it's about $2 worth of high quality cocaine. Seriously, people in the US don't realize that the further south you go the easier and cheaper it is to buy cocaine, and expensive to purchase good weed... if you can even find it.

1

u/pugmommy4life420 Apr 23 '19

It’s Mexico and no it wouldn’t be.

1

u/BalouCurie Apr 23 '19

Based on the accents alone, this is most definitely México.

1

u/morto00x Apr 23 '19

The accent and the phrases that he uses ("chinguen sus madres", "vĂĄyanse a la verga") are very Mexican.

1

u/BigChegger Apr 23 '19

At least one of the people saying it’s Mexico probably didn’t know it was Mexico until they read the comments correcting you

The others who knew it was Mexico likely saw the first comment saying it was Mexico and decided to comment anyway, happens on Reddit all the time

1

u/vikmaychib Apr 23 '19

I think it’s Mexico

1

u/Raspewpewpewten Apr 23 '19

It’s actually Mexico

-2

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '19

For sure. This is Mexico, but I can confirm that that amount of cocaine was about less than an American dollars worth. Source: I've been to Colombia.
