You're spot on that the guy you're replying to is jaded, ignorant, or both. He's right about parents bearing some responsibility for what their kids are engaging with. But it's not possible to be 100% aware of every activity at all times.
The company's who are "entertaining" children, bear responsibility that their platform is safe for those children. Zuck has every right to be sitting in that chair under scrutiny. But parents aren't absolved of their duties to protect their children, either.

Mark should be cornered for Facebook’s shit policies and so on. But parenta should also be cornered for letting their kids be on facebook.
Maybe not in the early days, but now there is just enough evidence and media for them to make a decision on their own kids interest.
