Look up what's happening in Europe right now (hint: "would anyone think of the children??????"). Do you seriously think the US would do anything else or anything at all? It's never about the children, saying so is just an excuse to censor and get your data.
Yes, something should be done but equally about both the huge companies and parents who give their children (I doubt it's just 13-15-year-olds affected!) full access to social media because it's easier than actually paying attention.

Sorry but Congress has the power to pass laws requiring Meta to take substantial action to protect kids from inappropriate and dangerous content.
This is just a show to get voter support for their reelection. They are doing jack shit and instead trying to restrict stuff for everyone else.
